A plum-black she-cat searched for some shade as she stalked through the meadow. It was mostly bushes, but she eventually came across a tree that was large enough to cool her down at least a little bit. Stormy eyes colored dark teal, like an ocean in pouring rain, raked through the surroundings. Akito hissed in distaste at the fiery heat. It was giving her the worst headache. She glared up at the tree, as if blaming it for not cooling her off enough. Maybe she'd go for a swim later, if she came across a stream. The sickly cat closed her eyes tightly, in hopes that she could fall asleep, despite the fact that the sun shone on her eye lids. Akito sat up in annoyance, irritated with the sun, and the heat, and basically everything. Well, at least she hadn't run into her mother. That would be rather unfortunate. This was one of those times when she wished that her father was still alive. He could calm her down. Akito was suddenly a bit saddened. She missed him. And she had watched him die, fighting sickness. Now put in a new mood that would make her act even angrier than she'd been before, Akito curled into a ball, hoping, futilely, that she would not be bothered.

And as if a golden angel had responded to Akito's wish, Madurar appeared in the dying yellow grass several feet away. Even from there he could sense anger crackling across her pelt like electricity. His liquid gold eyes surveying the young she-cat for a moment before he flicked his tail and started towards her. He seated himself a fox-length away from her, squinting in the sunlight and saying "Enjoying the weather, I see?" Of course, the poor tom had no way of knowing he had probably just set off a time bomb.
He waited for her repsonse, knowing he was really pushing it by joking around. Poor old soul...

Akito was on her feet in a matter of mere seconds, bristling, a murderous gleam in her eyes. She hissed, annoyed at herself for getting so taken by surprise.
"What do you want?" This she-cat had learned at a very young age that there were too few people you could trust to be open, and unprotective. At least, that was her point of view, with the way she'd been brought up by a particularly cruel mother.
Madurar had certainly set off a time bomb. A horrible mistake, on his part.

Madurar merley smiled at her quick assumption that he was a threat to her life. He was scarcly a threat to anyone, let alone a moody she-cat who clearly knew how to fight. "Why do you assume I want something?" he replied calmly, his eyes widening. What did he have to lose anyways. "My name Madurar. I am overjoyed to make your aqquaintance, madame." he said, bowing his head respectibly for a moment before looking back up, his golden eyes twinkling with amusment. Madurar licked his paws, washing his face quickly and then lying down in the grass, stretching out and rolling his shoulders. He even had the nerve to close his eyes and open his mouth in a yawn, stretching his paws in the air as he did so.

Akito drew back slightly, now in a stiff sitting position, tail wrapped tightly around paws. You could practically see her putting up force-fields, so to speak. It was as if she were creating an invisible sheild around herself that nobody could enter, closing herself off, isolating herself from him. Her fur was beginning to lie flat, and the glare was gone. She now looked quite annoyed. "Are you trying to mock me?" Surely, that could be the only purpose to his behavior.

Madurar opened his eyes and shook his head. "You just need to chill." he looked deep into her eyes, sliding right past her shield and into the depths of her soul. His smaile faded, and his voice became serious. "Not everyone is out to get you. There are just as many good cats in this world as bad." he said softly, sitting up and moving closer to her so he could speak more quietly. "I don't know what your life has been like, but I assure you that I am not going to hurt you. I'm not like most cats." he whispered in her ear, before he moved away in case she exploded again.

Akito seemed to go even more rigid than she already was. She didn't like how close the tom was to her. She didn't distrust him, but it was uncomfortable. She still had to keep her guard up. Just in case.
"Akito," she stated simply. An introduction. Her voice was a monotone, now.

Madurar's golden orbs focoused on Akito's. He stared deep into her eyes like he could straight down to her soul. It was a revealing gaze that you never got from strangers, and it made most cats uncomfortable. And the longer that Madurar stared at her, almost provoking her, challenging her, he seemed to see less and less of Akito. And the hapiness vanished quite quickly, gushing out of his eyes and face and back into the ground. Madurar's golden eyes were sad now, and he quietly turned his back to her. "I was only trying to be friendly." he said, his voice obviously hurt. "You don't have to be so rude."
So he walked away, in a half circle to the other side of the tree, and lay down in what little shade there was. He kept his back to Akito, pretending to be angry, but his eyes were wide open and his ears were pricked up, waiting for her reaction.

Akito had stared back at him, eyes narrowed in almost a dangerous way... if one could consider a sickly, underweight, small-for-her-age, fourteen-moon-old she-cat dangerous. At his remark, she bristled, offended. He had called her rude! She was not rude. How could he say that?! He was the rude one. And then he just walked away! Some tom! How she wished she could just stalk off, never see him again. But she couldn't bring herself to leave. So instead, she stalked over to his laying form reluctantly, movements tense, but all the same very graceful.
"How can you say something like that to me and then just walk away as if nothing happened? If anything, you're the rude one here." Then, more quietly, she added, "I didn't think I could trust you..." She hadn't exactly been wanting him to hear her, and she desperately hoped he didn't. She turned away again, but didn't walk away. She curled into the same tight ball that Madurar had found her in. A quiet cough, muffled by her fur, was emitted from her mouth. Great, the heat was getting to her and she was getting ill. She groaned quietly.

Madurar's ears pricked as he listened to her. A small smiled of amusement crossed his features. They alway came back. If there was anything that he had learned in his short life, it was that they always came back. "I could walk away because I could clearly see that you did not wish to talk to me. Therefore, I decided that it was no longer nessescary of me to intrude upon your day." He informed Akito.
In response to her secpmd statement, he merley pretended that he hadn't heard. Some things you acknowledge, some things you didn't. Madurar turned when he heard her cough. "You know, it's usually a good idea to drink lots of water when its this hot. There's a stream over that hill." he pointed with his tail to a hill a couple yards away. He lay his had down again, seeing red spots even with closed lids as the sun beat down on him.

The tom's response was reasonable. But Akito didn't want to be reasonable. She just wished everything could go the way she wanted it for once. She sighed, deciding to ignore the first statement altogether.
"I don't have the energy to go to the stream right now," Akito muttered.
((Maybe I should make her mother's bio. That'd be fun. Bring in some abuse... XD Should I? It'd be exciting.))

((LOL, sure! Wait until they're mates, so he can be all manly and protect her. XD))
Madurar shrugged. Then he rolled over and stood up, shaking grass and dust off his golden pelt. "Wait here." he ordered, his eyes sparkling. He knew what he was about to do would probably annoy her to no end, but he wasn't going to let her get dehydrated. Madurars golden pelt vanished into the grass, appearing once again over a hill. His golden eyes turned to face her for a moment, making she hadn't made a run for it. Seeing her there, Madurar wove back into the grass again. He was gone for several minutes, wondering what the chances of her being there when he got back were.
The sunset colored tom came back to the tree where Akito was. He held a soaked, dripping piece of gren moss in his jaws, and he released it at her paws. "Drink." he said, nodding his head and sitting down expectantly. He knew she woukd start protesting any second now. 1, 2, 3, 4... Madurar counte dthe seconds in his head.

Akito glared up at him. "I don't need your help," she hissed, sitting up again, back rimrod straight suddenly. But maybe being tense wasn't his fault. She seemed to be straining her ears. Footsteps... had she heard footsteps? And that scent... so familiar.
A tsking sound broke the tense silence.
"Akito, Akito, Akito. You should really know better than that. He's being kind to you..." This invading voice sounded very similar to Akito's, just older. Then the owner of the voice revealed herself. She and Akito were similar. Same pelt color, nearly same eye-color. "...seeing as it's so hard to do that." Now the she-cat approached the two. "He must be very kind, to actually be able to pretend to care about you. But soon enough, he'll either turn on you, or something will happen to him. Isn't that what happens to those who are kind to you?" Ren had been hissing in Akito's ear, not expecting Madurar to hear.
Akito seemed to be shocked into silence. Finally, she snapped out of her daze and bristled, claws unsheathed, glaring murderously at Ren.
"Stay away from me! Don't speak to me! I'll kill you!"
"Fine. I'll merely go to StarClan and join your father. I don't need you."
Akito fell silent again.

Madurar's head snapped up, his small ears standing straight and tall. He smelled Ren's scent, almost like Akito's. Relatives, maybe. Madurar's golden eyes held intrest, increasing only more when he saw the new cat looked like almost like a clone of Akito. "Akito , who's this?" he said, his voice fading into worry when he heard Ren's words. So she was the one that taught Akito everyone was evil to the core with bad intentions.
But when Akito snapped into battle mode, more feircely than he'd seen before, his forhead creased with worry. Anxiety filled his hansome golden features as Akito and the stranger exchanged threats. Madurar was suddenly speaking, hoping that what he was about to say would prove him to be siding with Akito. He forced his claws out and his fur to bristle, and he let out a low snarl, ripping through his throat.
"Cats like you don't go to StarClan."
Madurar growled, his eyes dark and threatening. His eyes flicked back to Akito, if only for a second, and the golden tom stepped in front of Akito, shielding her from the intruding she-cat. Though he had only known Akito for a few minutes, he knew this would probably make her feel useless and weak, so he turned back to her, his gaze warning and intense. Don't argue. it said, and then Madurar stepped forward, so his angry face was only a mouse-tail away from Ren's.

Akito didn't reply to Madurar's question. Her ears were flat against her skull, and her looks were still very feral. Despite this, one with a trained eye would easily see the pain hidden beneath the violent fury in the she-cat's stormy orbs.
Ren's eyes went slightly wild, and Akito felt a slight pang of fear, and realized she wasn't worried for her own sake, but for Madurar's. What had come over her? Why did she feel concerned for this tom that she barely knew? But she knew why she felt that way. He reminded her of her father. The younger she-cat looked past the tom to glare murderously at her mother, who was busy watching Madurar with contempt..
"If anybody doesn't deserve to go to StarClan, it is Akito. It's that pathetic kit's fault that my mate is dead!" Ren's voice was beginning to get shrill, strained, insane.
"Leave, Mother!" Akito roared.
"Don't tell me what to do, child," Ren replied coldly, menacingly.
