The the darkness of the cave, visibility might be limited even for a cat, but the sounds were abundant. The clacking of claws on the stone, whispering as whiskers brushed the walls, the noise of breath, crickets, and dripping water ahead. The tunnels widened into the main cavern, and the eyes of the deputy Scythebark picked up the light from the stars that shown from the gash in the stone roof. The water was calm, bubbling contently in its place, the stars reflecting peacefully on the surface. Scythebark turned his head and looked at where the water flowed, coming from a dark passageway that cut back into the mountains. This river was the same that ran in the gorge past the canyon, before cutting into the stone, taking a detour through Masquerade's tunnels and winding here. This river had claimed quite a few cat lives, yet it was the same the Clans relied on for guidance from StarClan. The deputy looked back at the Medicine Cat who was traditionally accompanying him, Cloudedspirit. Rosette ears twitching and stomach twisting at the thought of the responsibility.

((Could my cat, Jadedawn, the long dead medicine cat of Duskclan give him a life, or were you planning on doing it all by yourself? If so, could she at least lead him to where he'll get all his lovely lives?))

((I'm sorry it's taken me so long to post! xP No muuuuse!))
Cloudedspirit had weaved around in the tunnels with the soon-to-be-leader. Though medicine cat of her Clan, she'd only been in the MoonCave a paw-full of times. Good thing she had a good memory. The young she-cat gave Scythebark a reasuring nudge as they approached the StarRiver.
((Short. XP Sorry!))

((No worries XD ))
The tortoiseshell nodded shyly at the Medicine cat, ears laying back and flickering upright. This was a big moment in his life that not many cats got to experience, but no speaking was necessary. He cautiously stepped toward the bank and lapped up a mouthful of the black water. Easing into a lying position he waited for sleep to come, grey eyes narrowing to look across the river. For a moment he froze, catching a glance at some things on the opposite bank that looked like the skulls of cats who had been washed down from upstream.
Instantly he stood at Riverhill, in the middle of the paw-trampled river facing the fallen tree that he knew so well. The wind blustered, icy yet comfortable, and the rustling of the leaves in the trees sounded of whispers. He looked up as the stars, brighter than usual, flitted about in the sky. They formed a circle and spiraled downwards, star dust filling their forms and slowly taking the shape of running paws and wind-swept tails. The wind picked up as the stars approached and Scythebark crouched, afraid the breeze would gust him off his paws. One by one the shimmering silver cats took their place on the edge of the clearing, shining ears perked and white faces expressionless against the sparkling eyes. The wind subsided and Scythebark looked around, eyes wide and mouth open. These cats were relaxing and awe inspiring at the same time, and in their presence he felt both small and tall. The last cats from the sky perched on the leader's tree, and their fur changed from the starry silver to their own. Scythebark stood and his ears perked, a smile on his face as he recognized them. There was Silverstar! Next to her were his parents, Marrowbone and Dewgleam, along with Jadedawn and other cats he had known. But something wasn't right. There were seven cats. He looked to Silverstar, eyebrows raised in surprise and question. This wasn't right, weren't all nine supposed to come together? The StarClan cats to the left hissed, and his head snapped around. They bristled and parted as a cat padded towards the seven on the log. His fur shined naturally silver, and his expression was sneering. Beneath his paws the grass burned, igniting in his steps, fizzing out into smolders. Hopping up onto the log, the cat looked him square in the eye, red fire inhabiting his eyes instead of the soft white of the others. At the other end of the log sat a cat that had appeared without any warning, and just sat there with an amused and kindly expression. While the log turned silver under the glow of the others, that cat had no shine, and looked plain and earthly. But now all nine were accounted for, and it was time for Silverstar to start the ceremony.
