Several pairs of eyes flashed in the darkness, several tails twitched with anticipation as they waited for their leader's signal to enter the clearing. Maplestar sniffed the air cautiously before flicking her ears, allowing her Clan to stream down the hill past her. Glacierice, Mistlebough, Swiftpelt, Longlegs, Foxfur, Carbonfox, Sunsetheart, Songbird, Snowbone, Justicepaw, Fawnpaw, Kettlepaw and Rushpaw had all been allowed to come. Maplestar watched them take their places around the clearing, waiting for the other Clans to arrive.

Justicepaw kneaded the ground with his claws, looking about himself. So this was the Gathering place? It fit the description. He pricked his scenses, trying to test the air for the other clans. No one yet, mapleClan were the firsts.
Fawnpaw sprang out behind him, nearly tackling him in her excitment. Her eyes twinkled. "I wonder what other apprentices will be here brother?"
Justicepaw thought first to point out he was technically not her brother, but thought better of it. "I don't know..." he had secretly hoped his siblings in CrescentClan might come...

Kettlepaw padded over to join his sister, tackling her from behind. "This is great, isn't it?" he purred, rolling onto his back. "Our first Gathering! I can't wait until the other Clans come! Foxfur was telling me stories earlier about each of them. They all sound so different!" His copper eyes sparkled with excitement as he grinned at his fellow apprentices.

Swiftpelt stretched out under the stars, thankful to be out of the territory. She hadn't been to a gathering for quite a while. The blue-gray warrior rolled over to her clan mate Mistlebough, waving her paws in the air. "It's such a nice night...not a cloud in the sky..."
Mistlebough nodded shyly. "Mm..Yeah." ------------------------------ Ravenstar stopped at the top of the hill, his clan behind him. Seeing that the Mapleclan cats were already there, he flicked his tail tip to indicate for Eclispepaw, Easepaw, Wingedmagic, Smokesmog, Goldtalon, Mothwhisper, Hazelgaze, Leopardscar, Nudgewing, Oliveleaf, Birdflight and Eaglewing to join the others. The Pewterclan leader strode towards Maplestar, mewing a greeting. "How has the prey been running?"
Nudgewing almost flew down the hill. This was her first gathering as a warrior. She tripped a bit near the foot of the hill, double-somersaulting before rolling to a stop. If cats could blush, she would've.

Oliveleaf padded next to her sister, Nudgewing. It was her first gathering as a warrior.

Unicornsbane waited in the trees. . . again. He was feeling rather huffy today-- he would rather spend time with his rogues then having to explain himself and his actions to the clan leaders and the clans. He wiggled his head experimentally, making sure his crown of fir and berries would not fall off upon his dramatic entrance. He brightened a little at the thought of showing off in front of all the she-cats of the clans, though. Perhaps a few would join him, once he let them see the full attractiveness and power that was *ahem* him. He glanced across the way, checking for rogues, but could see none. He rather missed the she-cat who had winked and smiled at him, but he would get by. . . somehow. Unicornsbane fidgeted impatiently.

GoldTalon smiled at the new MapleClan apprentices, padding over lithely to join them. "Hey, apprentices huh? Good times."
Fawnpaw dipped her head. "I'm Fawnpaw. These ruffians here are Kettlepaw and Justicepaw."
She got up from under her brother, waiting until GoldTalon had padded off to tackle him back.

Silently Mirrorsong padded up behind the rogue leader. "m'lord" she bowed deeply, her violet orbs never leaving his, her smooth voice was low, bearly above a whisper. Her tail thrashed from side to side, impaitently, but her gaze was calm. "so you are going to anounce your triumph tonight. Do you have a plan your greatness?" sloppy, she knew. but the tom was an idiot, there was no need to be clever with her praise. "for the clans will not take this news well at first. You must convince them you are their friend, their ally. the rogues mean no harm. For now."

Unicornsbane nodded, then shook his head. "Alright, my sweet." His pet name for her was rather less impressive then her many for him, but it was the best he could come up with. "But they may be violent. I'll simply have to overpower them with my charisma, and cow them with my impressiveness like I did the old tom." He didn't like to say Masquerade's name-- it felt like invoking him, and besides he kept forgetting it. He struck a pose, leaned in to lick Mirrorsong behind the ear. "Don't worry for me, my love." Secretly, he hoped she would.

"I'm not a ruffian!" Kettlepaw protested. "You're more tough than I am!" Realizing that being weaker than a she-cat was embarrassing, he quickly explained, "I mean, you attack cats a lot more. You always tackle me when I'm not looking! I prefer to respect those I love and not sit on them. But I could take you down with one swipe of my paw!" He puffed his chest out proudly, trying to look grown-up. Only when Sunsetheart padded over and swatted him on the head did he lay back down.
"You're acting like a kit!" she laughed gently, settling down next to the apprentices. "You know, if you want to be a warrior, being a ruffian can be a good thing. Practicing on your friends is a good way to train! You should follow your sister's example!" She winked at Fawnpaw before getting to her paws and trotting over to a group of CrescentClan cats. Fawnpaw grinned at Kettlepaw. "Well, at least I actualy practice."
Journey was sitting beyond the tress, waiting for her part to come. She had to be ready to help her leader Unicornsbane if need be.

Hazelgaze padded up to Goldtalon, nodding at the apprentices as she went by. t was nice to be back at a gathering after being held in a cave for a moon. She wondered if Ravenstar would announce her and her kits return. "You're very well-known here. Did I miss something while I was gone?" She meowed good-naturedly. She flicked his ear with her tail and, without waiting for a response, padded off to join a group of warriors, Wingedmagic, Longlegs, and Sunsetheart.

GoldTaln purred padding after her to see the others. "I fear the reason I am known isn't good. I was...hectic....as an apprentice."
Leopardscar was behind him, headed to talk to Carbonfox. He hadn't recognized the tom. "And you haven't matured a bit." He said to GoldTalon on the way, winking as he moved towards MapleClan.

((Does HoneyTail come automatically because she's deputy?))
SongBird watched the apprentices talk with a detached air. Had something moved in the bushes behind them? She perked her ears and stared. A lark fluttered out and she stalked across the more abandoned side of the clearing to bring it down. After catching it, she padded back and sat down beside SunsetHeart...

Ari would've snorted at Unicornsbane and Mirrorsong, but he didn't want to get on their bad side. Plus, his attention was directed at the cats gathering in the clearing below. His muscles rippled under his thick, coarse pelt as he twisted around.
