Wow. There were certainly a lot of kits in front of her that evening. The clan had figured out Teargale was pregnant pretty quickly. Her stomach had grown huge and the medicine cat, Frostwinter assumed that she must have had three or four kittens in her, which was quite a big litter. The medicine cat had been wrong. There were six kittens in front of her. Six, healthy, happy kittens nursing by her side. Most mothers would feel tender love, but all Teargale could feel was utter shock.
Six kittens?
"Six kittens." The medicine cat echoed her thoughts as she came into the nursery, bearing tidings of borage leaf. The new mother could only watch blankly as Frostwinter chewed up the leaves so that the poultice came out. "You'll need to produce more milk. You've always been a little on the small side and I'm surprised you got out so many. What are their names?"
Teargale looked down at the kits fondly, musing over the question. Until now, she hadn't really thought about that. The kits seemed perfectly fine without names and their simplicity melted her heart.
She looked down at the the first born tom, a ginger kit with big, grey splotches on his back. "That one can be Greykit...." she mumbled. Next she looked at a mottled grey and white tom, "This one is Cobrakit," her brain fumbled for names, and in the process she ended up with random names, rather than names based on the kit, "Here's Lakekit," she said, flicking her tail over a she-kit with golden fuzz fur on her. This name was perhaps most random seeing that lakes are generally blue. "Uh, the white and brown she-cat is Thunderkit." Her names were getting more out there and wilder by the kit, "This one right here," she indicated to another gold one, but darker, "He can be called Blazedkit," Lastly, she turned to the last born kit and her brain, already numb with the effort of naming five kits, searched aimlessly for a name for the last kit, who was brown and white like Thunderkit, but had a grey mask around his eyes. "And finally we have...Greyki- no, I already have a Greykit....er, Maskki- No, that sounds stupid. What about Chokekit? No, It sounds like a plant. Aha! Tensionkit!" Of course the name she chose was the least likely to make sense.
"Can you get my mate?" Teargale asked the medicine cat. "And who may that be?" The-cat questioned inquistively. "Oh, I forgot to mention it, didn't I?" she laughed, "It's Darkstar of course!"
((BEST NAMING EVER! xD))

A soft laugh came from the entrance, one of the last things you would expect from the usually always sober leader of CresentClan. With his shockingblue eyes, and silver tabby pelt, many had tried to win his heart over the moons, but only one had succeed in the task. It had been a total accident, them first meeting, but things had progressed since that, and here he was today. Mated, and with six healthy kits. Six! Litters usually weren't that large, CresentClan was going to thrive with all these new cats. And to think that they were his own flesh and blood, it only made them that much more special to him, and the clan. It had been a while since a leader had kits.
Entering the nursery, those piercing blue eyes were alight with happiness as he gazed fondly down at his mate and kits. Nodding to Frostwinter, a faint smile was obvious on his maw as his gaze kept flickering back to Teargale and kits. "Wow. Six kits. They are beautiful." Greykit, Cobrakit, Lakekit, Thunderkit, Blazedkit, and Tensionkit. Although some would have thought the names for some to be a bit random, but the names, they seemed to fit the kits. Of course, only personality would tell in the future, but for the moment, everything was perfect.
Still in obvious shock over everything, Darkstar really didn't know what to do with himself. It had been a crazy moon, that was all he could say. He was yet to gather a patrol to look for rogues, but at the moment, his family was going to come first. Maybe that wasn't a good thing for a leader to do, but at the moment, one could find Darkstar really didn't care about that. He was happy right now, and that was all that mattered. He had a family again, and so did Teargale! It was hard to imagine that, but here was the proof, right before his eyes.
Life was good...
((Hehe. Sort of bad post here.))

A twitch of his whiskers, a swish of his tail, and a low bellowing sound. One of the kits kicked away from suckling from his mother, moving in a squirming pattern toward the large tom that just entered the comfortable den. Even as a young cat, Tensionkit seemed to already know the one who held the power. Who he needed to get on the good side of. This ambitious trait that would continue through his life started at the very first breath. He nudged into Darkstar, and tried to sit up. His pale tan pelt seemed white at such an early age, and his darker brown lines that trace his whole body stood out more then ever. Yet it was not as over powering as the golden choke hold that had a firm grasp around the little toms neck. His kitten scruff prevented the deadly ring from strangling him completely, but only age would defy that as time went on.
Already Tensionkit looked powerful; just in the way he moved and was structured. He had a rather large build, mussels already formed from kicking inside his mothers womb... or the other kits that accompanied him at the time. His head was too big for his body, along with his snow dipped paws, and sitting up was a difficult task for a new born. But nothing got in this males way. After swaying to the side repeatedly, several times almost taking a face plant in the soft moss, Tensionkit got it. Tilting his head up, he tried to open his tightly fastened eyes... to look upon his father. At first the light was blinding; all the different colors and shapes gave the tom a sharp headache. It made him want to close them quickly as his eye balls screamed for mercy, yet he wouldn't allow it. One second, two seconds, three... the pain eased as he remained staring into the blur of the world around him. It made him tired.
Finally all the pieces of the puzzle was coming together, forming the silvery pelt and electric blue orbs of Darkstar... his father... the leader...
But this also revealed Tensionkit's stormy grey eyes, a color like the darkest clouds before the rain comes pouring down. Mixed in were wisps of a muggy aquamarine color, especially around the pupil. Even as a kit, they are both amazing yet dangerous looking. They seemed to pierce any one that looked back into them with a hard and harsh gleam. One that mocked your every move... it was to be told that Tensionkit would not make parenting easy. He grinned.
