Aceslash almost jumped at Havoccrypt's voice. He'd been so caught up in his thoughts that he had pretty much stopped noticing everything thing else that was going on around him. It was rather fortunate that he hadn't been fighting someone. The longhaired gray tom bristled for a moment, startled, before calming down again, and shaking his head uncertainly to his brother's question. "I haven't met her before." That was true. But even so, Aceslash was a little doubtful. There seemed to be a familiarity to the she-cat as he looked at her. Golden gaze clouded with confusion, he looked back at his brother and Depthvision. "Maybe she just looks like someone I've seen...Anyways. Are you two alright?"

The confrontation. Renegade had thought that it would be him against the leaders, one by one if he could, or two at once. He knew that he would have to wait between lives, so that he may kill them again, so he would alternate. The planning that had gone into this... Gone to waste, it seemed. Although, it was the same as with Havoccrypt. He would clamp onto the toms throat and squeeze until there was nothing left. It was simple. Sure, he had a gash down the side, but it would take much, much more than that to down him. He feinted right and instantly slashed left, grunting with annoyance as he missed, the injuries he had sustained throbbing in pain. He would have to improvise, alter his style to suit it. Another feint, again to the right, but this time he jumped on Zane, squashing his rear quarters to the floor and slashing, drawing bloody marks across his right flank before rolling off again and onto his paws. Then, assuming Zane would move, Renegade lashed out again, claws retracted, aiming for his head, in the hope that he would either be slow enough for the blow to have effect. His paw made contact. But with what? The other cats head, if he was slow. His neck or body, if he was fast. Nothing, if he was fast enough. Either way, Renegade wasn't waiting to find out. He dashed to the side of Zane, keeping out of the way for all but the fastest of movements. "I intend to." was all he said to the challenge. The difference between sanity and insanity...
Well, he had insanity covered.

Ah yes, so the battle had started. In the eyes of Renegade, he could see what the other tom thought of him. No more then a clan cat, weak and unknowing in the ways of battle. Well, he would have a suprise for him now, wouldn't he? If he had even taken time to notice the accent he spoke with, may it be faint, or just the way he was, Renegade would have noticed something. Something, that tied into a lot of things. That Zane was not from here. That he had not been trained the same way everyone else had. And that he wasn't going to hesitate, ever.
Whirling, Zane twisted, pelt just inches of those slashing claws. While the tomn was still getting back from the scratch, Zane, these cats were moving faster then once thought possible, brought his claws down into the skull of the other tom, before tearing away to try and avoide the next attack.. And it seemed that wasn't really possible. The larger tom engulfed the smaller one, sneding both of them crashing to the floor. However, there was an opening here, and Zane took it. His hindquarters were squashed right now, but head lunging forward, he bit into the underside of the other tom, before Renegade finally rolled off.
Renegade had assumed wrong, or at least, went the wrong way for movement. He had thought Zane would leap up to confront him once more, his paws flashing as it to attack him before he got the chance. Zane however, had moved to the side, out of sight in the shadows. He was only still for a moment, before lunging forward behind the tom, sweeping his claws down the area where tail connects to body, and a bit higher as well.
Leaping back, Zane's maw was drawn back, but he made no sound as he circled, never stopping as he lunged at Renegade, slicing into him wherever he got a chance. Already it seemed, both were tinted red from blood. Some was their own, and some was the other's...
Who ever said you can only be insane or sane?

Renegade was a lot of things. Big. Brutish. Smart. Quick. Unmerciful. All of these things, he had been described as. And more. But never a coward. He didn't feel fear. There was no need. Battles he fought in were quickly over. And yet, there was something here. Something he didn't like here... Something inside him, in his chest, in the pit of his stomach, stirred. He didn't like it. Fear was raising its ugly head, though Renegade masked it easily. It wasn't too difficult, with the fight that was going on. He glanced up and noticed the assembled cats, rogue and clan alike, massed in a circle around the sparring cats. Renegade's mind was whirling. Fast thoughts chased each other around his head, but not fast enough. A startling blow to his head made him see stars and his various injuries stung as he whirled around and lashed out at the other cats leg, drawing red lines across the other toms knee and watching the blood flow down. His legs. Renegade's voice began a hiss, rising into a growl, into a yowl and escalating into his customary roar as he made a desperate leap at Zane's legs, succeeding in taking the black tom down and clampng down on the base of his tail as they dropped. However, the tail was fast released. The silver tom hadn't taken into account a sudden dip in the ground, and he immediately rolled down it. It wasn't deep, but it was enough. He was lying on his back. It would only be for a moment, but if Zane took it... Renegade was as good as dead. If he didn't, then he was an idiot. Renegade was lying on his back, slightly tilted on his side. Everywhere he could be killed, all of the crucial, weak spots, were open. His head. His chest. His thoat.
Open.

Everything was like a blur aside from the area where the two cats dueled, and of course, Renegade himself. Faintly, Zane knew that everyone was meshed around the two cats, eager to see who would win this, and just hoping that they could have their home back. Some were wishing that Renegade would just finish this up so they can get back to doing what they were doing before, but mostly, it was the hope that he would kill Renegade, and let the natural order of things return. Don't be fooled either, that hope did not just come from the clan cats. The rogues there, it seemed they all weren't as they proclaimed to be, followers to the death of Renegade. They wanted the harsh ruler gone as well, although they feared what would come next if he lived on. Who would lead them next, and would they be punished for these thoughts, even as faint as they were? That didn't matter really though, as Zane dodged and struck with intensity. They would all find out in the end, even he didn't know what this battle would end in, although it was going better then he had thought it would go.
He had not been fast enough to dodge the last attack though, as scarlet ran down his leg, movement now stinging as he moved, although he knew it was possible to work through the pain. This time Renegade didn't just jump on him, he fell on the smaller tom, and knocked the breath out of him for only a moment, before the two rolled in the dip, each being jarred enough to let go of wherever their claws had been, or fangs for that matter. It wasn't too unexpected, but still came with a jolt, bright scarlet at the base of Zane's tail, another rather painful injury, not to mention something that he had just given Renegade. There! Renegade was as open as a cat could get, and for the moment, seemed too dazed to do anything about getting up to block himself. There was only going to be one shot at killing him, and this was it. Without hesitation, Zane lunged forward, no more then just a black blur. The throat would be the easiest, and that was what Zane took. Lunging down hard, the onyx tom sank his teeth deep into the throat of the silver tom, and tasted the metallic like taste of blood. It was over now, the body limp before his jaws. As soon as he was sure that every once of life was gone from the other tom, Renegade had already proven his strength on more then one occasion today, Zane released the other tom's throat, muzzle covered with blood, and decently wounded, but the victor of the battle. Stepping back, his eyes blazed like golden fire, Zane let out a low growl, before leaping onto the Great Rock somehow. It was probably that adrenaline that kept him from noticing his wounds too much, as the beat of the battle still drummed in his veins.
Looking down upon the cats who were still staring at him with a mixed awe, he spoke loudly, and with an air of command. "All those who followed under Renegade; leave now. Your master is dead, and unless you want to suffer the same fate, get out of the clan land." A simple sentence, filled with power. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Dimitri and Vampirefang dragging the body away. They would take it to some barren land, and over time, Renegade would be forgotten, aside from elder tales. Now though, it was time to clear out those who didn't belong. Leaping down from the rock, wincing although it was unnoticeable to anyone who didn't know him, Zane went and stood beside Melody, head raised high as he watched those who were going to leave now, or be foolish enough to die. It seemed the crimson and white rogue Sacrifice, and the strange marked tom Dageus, had already left as soon as they had seen Renegade fall. Eyes blazing, covered in blood and wounded, Zane had done what he had always done, although this time it had been more difficult then previous battles. Everyone was safe.
For now.

The teeth around his throat were unforgiving, and Renegade knew it was over. They squeezed and the dizziness enveloped him. All he could hear was a dull roar and the sound of his rasping breaths, becoming more and more desperate. And then, the great tom closed his eyes and went limp for the final time in this fight.
-x-
Bated breath. When Renegade tackled Zane, everything had been obscured from view for the three siblings. And then, when Zane extracted himself, Forgedpaw and Falteringpaw gave an immense yowl of sheer exhileration, so happy that Renegade had fallen that they broke the unspoken rule; no one speaks until the winner did. As the black tom climbed the Great Rock, they fell silent, exchanging glances with each other and other cats in the clearing. At his words, they wooped, and, together with their sister, chased a few lingering rogues, Falteringpaw trailing behind slightly. Oh well. It seemed like everything was back to normal...

((Perfectly written, both of you. Thank you Destiny, I will now take Renegade for his old ageness. =) ))
Melody's eyes blinked for once, pain hitting them slightly. She had somehow forgotten to blink during the fight, and now she began again. Glancing briefly at Aceslash, she turned back to Zane and pressed her head to his chest.
"Though I knew you would win, for that's the way of the good, I don't believe I'd have been more frightened than I was had it been me out there."
She confessed, relief flooding her face.
"We must get you home, Zane. Foreshadow can look at the injury, I'm sure he knows what to do. Dawnstar and Goldstar can make sure everyone is out, it's not your job."
Her concern for her mate stood still on her face, eyes flashing briefly in worry.
!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!
Goldstar seemed relatively unharmed aside from the injury to his shoulder, and leaped up onto a smaller rock. He'd not interfere with Dawnstar's, that was for sure. There had been enough fighting for one day.
"PewterClan, we return home."
He nodded his head, saving his speech for later. He padded silently over to Dawnstar, a thanks in his eyes.
"PewterClan is in your debt, Dawnstar. Had it not been for you and your brave warriors, my clan would not return home again. We thank you." The golden tom dipped his head in respect.
!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!!**!
Depthvision's worry was gone from her face. It was Havoccrypt, she had no reason to worry. With a smile, she stood between him and his brother.
"So what now? Think Sargent Bossy will make us look for injured?" She tilted her head towards her father with a devilish grin.

A soft smile flickered on the edges of Zane's maw, as he rubbed slightly against Melody, shaking his head slightly. He hadn't fought for himself in that battle, or really even too much for the clan cats. He had fought for his family, what was there, and what was soon to be. Gazing around, he nodded, seeing as though everything was under control once more with the clan, those who weren't suppose to be here gone. it was time for them to depart from here, back to where they belonged. "I agree. Let us go." Zane muttered, voice softer then usual from the battle, but still filled with what the tom was. Taking a breath, Zane moved toward the camp entrance, and also the exit. His rush was gone, and he felt every step, wincing as the wounds stung. He could work through it though. Turning, he waited for Melody and Foreshadow, before it was as though the three had never even been there to start with...
>><<
Havoccrypt eyes his brother with interest, obviously having suprised him once more. He seemed to be getting good at that, cool. He had thought Ace had long ago stopped being suprised by Havoc, considering all they had been through with each other. "I'm fine. It takes a lot more then that to kill me." Scoffing, the black tom rolled his eyes in his typical good humor showing through. Turning his gaze to Depthvision, a half grin appeared as he shook his head. "With our luck, probably." He snorted, running his paw over his ears again in that same casual manner, as if they were at their own camp instead of CresentClan's.

Dawnstar returned Goldstar's nod. "And Crescentclan is in yours, witout your clan adding strength to our numbers, we would have been wiped out. Not to mention, you brought Zane. Our debts are cancelled out. Clan life will go on as normal once we've taken care of the injured. And buried the dead." the strong leader's voice cracked slightly as she caught sight of one of her brave warriors, lying on the ground. Not breathing.
With a sigh, she turned away from Goldstar so he wouldn't see the weakness in her eyes. "Frostwinter, take care of our injured, please." she didn't even have the strength to jump up onto the rock, simply calling out orders from where she stood. "Darkangel, could you please take some warriors and make sure no rogues are lingering in our territory? And if you see any crossing the borders into Mapleclan or Duskclan, go and warn Silverstar and Honeystar. If anyone wishes to speak to me, I will be here." though tired and obviously injured, the she-cat would remain there until everything had been sorted out and her clan had been sorted out. Even then, she would remain there to sit vigil with the bodies of her beloved clan, those who had fallen to defend it. She then turned back to Goldstar. "Will your clan be alright to carry the dead? You may borrow some warriors of mine if you wish it." There was a momantary truce: although hostile to cats outside her clan, Dawnstar could swallow the hostility right now, especially for the cats who had saved her and her clan. However, once off her territory, the truce would end, and there would be no mercy for trespassers after that.
((Okay, no problem Dream. And of course, I don't think anyone knows that Silverstar died, so they don't know that Scythebark has taken over.))

A lone rogue still wandered, she had just come back from carring off Renegade's body, although her scent revealed that she was not one of his followers. Turning, she looked at Dawnstar, shaking her head after hearing what she had said to Goldstar. "He did not bring Zane. Zane did this out of his own free will." Knowing that it wasn't safe to linger here any more, she had finished what she had meant to do anyways, Vampirefang turned and left CresentClan, headed back toward where she belonged, rogue territory...

The deputy had seen the fight, and he was rather impressed, although it didn't show. It had been a fast one, but full of pain it seemed. His silver pelt was scratched and bleeding in some places, but Darkangel really hadn't gotten off too bad. He knew their fighting style. Bowing his head slightly though, there was no way to escape all the fallen bodies of his clan. Many had fallen with a screech on their face, still wanting to fight even though they were in death. It hurt to see them, but it was just another part of clan life.
Dipping his head at Dawnstar, Darkangel nodded, striding forward to the entrance, before calling out; "All those who are suffering with only minor wounds, or no wounds at all, follow me." Without even waiting to see who was coming, the deputy walked into the water, and quietly swam a bit before entering the forest part of CresentClan, which included the borders of DuskClan and MapleClan. Now though, he would wait to see who had followed him, if any.
