The sandy, spotted colored tom gazed absently into the camp, amber eyes just watching. He had been made a warrior the day before. It felt strange to sleep in the bigger den, but at least he was still around others he knew. That was always the plus side to growing with someone else. Still though, a pang of homesickness struck him as he thought of last night. All the families had been so proud to see their kits grow up. Sandriddle's family had all been killed. He had thought he had gotten over it moons ago, but it only took a memory to bring everything rushing back to him. Isn't that all it usually takes though? He had once been as close as blood to his friends, but they had parted ways to find DuskClan. Deep down, he knew that they would never come again. Something terrible had happened to them, and nothing would bring them back. Shrugging, and wondering how to rid himself of these painful memories, Sandriddle stood and streched, yawning slightly. He knew the apprentices were already out, they were very hyper active, so he didn't need to go on a patrol. What he needed to do, was nothing. Blinking, he padded across camp and started on a vole, ears listening for someone who might be approching. A sharpened hearing and eyesight was a nice thing Sandriddle had always taken for granted.

Rainbowpelt walked by. "Morning." she yawned, acrhcing her back slightly. "Nice day." She hadn't spoken to her good friend for a while.

Looking up, as he had detcted the familiar falls of his friend's footsteps, Sandriddle dipped his head, a small grin turning the corners of his mouth. It wasn't the same as his usual bright attitude, but at least it was something. He finished his vole and sat up, nodding once again about the ice day comment. It wasn't cold, it wasn't hot. It was all good.
"Last night was fun. Your family seemed very excited for everyone. And then the apprentices seemed to be so excited as well."[/size]
He wrote. She was the only one who knew how to read what he wrote. It was good to be able to write what he thought.

Rainbowpelt smiled. "Becoming a Warrior is a big thing. A lot of responsability. Its always so flattering to have the Leader call out your name in front of everyone..." she sighed happily. "and well, you know Apprentices." she laughed. "They'd be pleased if the squished a beetle." she smiled,

Sandriddle blinked, shaking his head in amusment and rolling his eyes. Apprentices had always been so happy go lucky. It was hard to remember ever being like that, even when he was young. Sighing, he nodded to her as she spoke of the leader. It was sort of like flying, being a warrior for the first time after wanting to so bad. The greater sense of maturity was amazing.
"Apprentices are so enthusiastic. Make me tired just to watch them.

Rainbowpelt nodded. "I was ready to go to sleep after one of them found out they were going to the Gathering." she smiled.

"Hey, don't forget that I'm as old as you." Spiritpaw mewed from outside the den.

Sandriddle frowned at her, eyes narrowed slightly as he shook his head, an obvious 'no.' He was older then the she cat, his warrior name having already been earned. She was still an apprentice. At least, that was how Sandriddle saw her. Turning, he gazed back at Rainbowpelt, laughter flashing momentarily in his rich amber eyes. Apprentices were so much fun to talk about. It was so hard to remember what apprentice life was like now, after they had become warriors. How strange that it was that way.

Rainbowpelt nodded, looking off into space for a moment. "Whats it like, not to be able to talk?" she asked suddenly. "i try to think what it would be like... but I can't." she had never asked him about it before, though she had wondered countless times.

Suprise glittered in the deep amber eyes of Sandstrike. (Had to have a name change) He had never really gotten that question before. It was a bit strange, and he had to think about his answer for a moment, before scrawling it into the firt beside them.
I've never known anything else, so it basically is a way of life for me. Its not as easy to get what you want said known to others. I have an advantage over them though, because I can write. Or at least, an advantage if someone can read it. Its rather challenging for me sometimes, but I've learned to work around it. Now me not talking is as strange as thinking if I could ever speak to me."
Sandstrike shrugged slightly, obvious not sure if that was the exact answer he wanted.

(( I heard))
Rainbowpelt listened well, then nodded. "That makes sense, I suppose." she said, her voice full of wonder. "I don't even know HOW I can read it. I just understand it, somehow..." she said, looking at the words and swiping some of the letters with her paw.

Sandstrike grinned at her, playfully buming her shoulder. She was one of the few who could read what he wrote. It was very odd to find somone who could understand him.
'So few I have met that can read. Its odd.'
Good humor glittered in his eyes as he bumped her again.
((Lol. Got lazy. Didn't want to font it.))

Rainbowpelt smiled, pawing playfully at his ear. She was like a kit again, carefree and happy.

Grinning, he playfully caught her under the stomache, and acted like he would flip her, before leaping away. It was fun, to be so relaxed really that one was able to play. After all, how many times do you have the oppertunity to be able and just play?

Rainbowpelt growled playfully. Then she swiped at his face again, jumping back and rocking back and forth in anticipation.
