It is for the good of my family, and the ones I care about, that I remain alone like this. And yet, it seems, some selfish part of I wish that is had not to be this way, for I fear that a shattering may have occured. If only she knew that I am only meaning well; for I do not wish her to be hurt, anymore then I wish for Foreshadow to be injured. Renegade puts us in a difficult position, for there are few willing to venture into his lair, but maybe Vampirefang will go. She seems quite fond of the odd tom, whom I have not really known.
A pair of golden eyes, dimmed by his thoughts, flickered to life as they opened, looking not at the bright sun of day, but the pale light of the familiar moon. It had been a long time since the black and grey tom had actually been awake during the day; he wandered at night now, when he knew that temptation to visit where he couldn't go would be less, simply because the cool sky seemed to clarify everything to a different level, rather then the warm rays of the sun.
Rising up, Quinn stepped from his niche, blinking up at the stars in the night sky, and wondering, who exactly was watching him tonight. He knew of StarClan, and of SunClan of course, but there were always times when he thought them to be a mere myth. Now, as he looked up at the stars, it seemed as though there really could be something out there. Something greater then mortals.
Everything has an opposite. If there is a StarClan, then there must be a SunClan as well, even if you can't exactly see them."
Blinking the sleep out of his eyes, the ash grey and black tom set out, only the faintest if whispers as his paws moved across the rough stone of the canyons. There were very few out tonight, and it made him feel as though he was he, not someone else. Clear minded, although his direction was unknown, Quinn could only watch his surroundings. Some part of him knew though, where he was going. It had been the same place he had been going ever since leaving Renegade and Poison that night, something that although had been the right thing, had also seemed to have driven something into his mirror that he once held. Bow all that remained were shattered bits.
The path was familiar, each dip and turn, it was almost enough that he didn't have to pay attention to where he was walking. Almost. The turnoff was a small, almost invisible path, easy to miss, but even harder to find when one knows it. He had stumbled upon this by pure accident, and now, it seemed as though he had it down enough to remember exactly where it was. With a faint, almost tired smile, Quinn trudged up the final few lengths, until he was sitting on a ledge, back to an outcropping of rocks, and overlooking the land. He came here mostly to watch... but also to hope. Maybe things could work out here for them to meet, for this was not the land of Renegade, nor was it the land of Zane. As far as he knew, it was pretty much unclaimed, for there were no scent borders, or any sense of power to really define this area. With a soft, barely heard sigh, Quinn sank down, resting on the rough surface, eyes gleaming as they watched the darkness. This was all he would do, until the sun began to rise.
The only question, the same that came to his mind every night, something that drove him to endless thoughts..
Was she looking for him, as he waited for her? Or sometimes, it was;
Did he even hold a chance to have another friend, if this didn't work out? Making friends with an enemy was a dangerous thing, although danger was nothing that he really feared. He had come to terms with death a long time ago.
Will tonight be the night where I can finally do something again, even as small as it once was before..?
