The family had just been accepted into MapleClan the night before, and today was going to be a big day for them. Fracture, Snap, Relic, Mellow, and Apple were all going to get their mentors and apprentice names today. With a grin, the black and white skeleton tom stepped forward, white part of his pelt seeming to glow in the faint light. Ears tipped forward, Fracture was quiet for once, although it wasn't he who had always been the loud and obnoxious one. Turning about, it was just then that Fracture noticed the deadly silence in the den; and how none of the other apprentices aside from his siblings were there. At first, it meant nothing to the tom; maybe everyone had just left early, it wasn't his fault that they were so early to rise. And then... he noticed how only he, Relic, and Apple seemed to be breathing. The stillness that radiated from Mellow and Snap made the young skeleton cat's blood run cold, and his usually bright golden eyes darkend.
No. No. It must be a dream. It has to be a dream, they can not be dead! Panic hitting him like a blow to the stomach, Fracture quickly dashed over to his siblings, arriving just as the scent hit him. It was the scent of death, one that he knew well enough, but mixed in with that scent, was something different. It smelled of herbs, but also bitterness, as well as something that, if it would have had a color, would have been green. A scent that he had only smelled once before, before Umbre had ushered them away from the cat, who had seemed to be stark raving mad. He knew what the smell was, and he knew what it meant. Anger coursing through him, Fracture grabbed the scruffs of his dead siblings, and pulled them outside, where he saw, a ring of cats had gathered, all looking at him with what he saw to be, hostile eyes. Bristling, Fracture dropped the scruffs of his dead siblings, not waking Apple or Relic. He could deal with this; they didn't need to be subjected to this. At least, not until they backed off. After all, it was all their fault. Everyone had been just fine before they had come to this clan, and not even a full day had passed, and now his family, at least some of it, were dead!
"This is your fault. If we had not come here, Snap and Mellow would still be alive." His tone was livid, as anger danced in his eyes. With his stance being defensive, it was evident what Fracture wanted to do. It was only something greater then him that held him back, as well as the fact he knew this was a fight he couldn't win. Not now, anyway. "That’s right, look down at them and see your greatest fear. You only see the loss of two future warriors of the clans, as well as a fear for your own worthless pelts. We come here hoping for a place to call home, and this is what happens? What a great place to live this is." For once, the flash was gone out of the tom, rather, he let what he was actually feeling pour forth. His anger, his rage, everything. What he wouldn't give to just sink his claws into the clan cats. He would never be one of them. Not after this. They were the cause of the death of his family, yes, he could feel that. It was all their fault.
Lips lifting up to reveal sharp teeth, Fracture glared at the retreating warriors. "And now, you back away, as though I am poison as well. How sad it is." Tail lashing, Fracture had his back to his siblings in an almost protective stance; for both the living and the dead. Anger was evident in him, but it seemed as though there was nothing that would calm him down. Suddenly though, a faint wind seemed to dance across the camp, and just like that, Fracture seemed to calm down, so now, nothing was reflected in his gaze. Raising his head, his look was one of disgust toward the clan cats, as he spoke softly, looking at his mom. "I am not to stay here. What once was a good idea has ceased to be so, would it be possible for us to relocate? Or, anywhere I could go?" Smooth as ice, and about as cold too, Fracture's voice had taken to normal level, for he knew that it wouldn't be too long until his siblings, those who were living anyway, were awake.
>><<
A small form watched Fracture with sadness in her green eyes. Not visible to those of the living, the she cat previously known as Snap, and now Snapflare, sighed softly. She hadn't expected this, and now, everyone was going to be hurt so bad. She hadn't even planned to come down so soon, but Fracture had seriously needed a cool down. Her visit though, may be longer then she had hoped. Frowning, Snapflare shook her head, knowing that she couldn't be seen, at least, not now, but wishing that none of this had ever happened. Good things were not to come from this...

There was a cry from the edge of the crowd, and a few of the bewildered Clan cats stumbled back as the big brown form of Umbre darted into view, yellow eyes huge and long fur fluffed like she had just be pushed off the cliffs. It took the queen a moment to realize exactly what was happening, and when it clicked a mournful wail sprang from her mouth as she dashed over to Fracture and the still kits. She was a very motherly cat, and the sight of her children lying dead on the grass was horrifying. She coughed choked sounds of distress while she stood over them and used a paw to pull Fracture closer.
"For StarClan's sake, get Summerfur now." Blizzardbird, in the crowd, snapped at her own son, Sleetpelt, urgently. The sickness was nothing new, and having yet two more kits die weren’t altogether shocking. She slipped into the den to comfort Apple, who had been woken from her heavy sleep by the cries coming from outside and was now pasted at the entrance, staring, and Relic.
Ki-yivoice made his way quickly around the rim of camp on his long coyote legs, stood on the cliff above Nimblestar's den and barked frantically to get the leader's attention, "Starnimble, look quick, in front of the nursery. The new cats have trouble; The sick again!" Nimblestar had likely already figured something was up with just Umbre's yowls, but it was best to give him a short report to ready himself. That was the coyote sentry's job, anyway.
((Lolz, attempts at emotion amuse me. =Continues gluing character personalities to cardboard= ))

Relic grew angry, and with no visible enemy it turned in. He snarled, sinking his claws into the dirt and yowling at Nimblestar who had just appeared from his den, the image of calm.
Deep in Nimblestar's iris's, anger was stirring. He would speak with Clopar with this. This was to be over. Although he inhaled and exhaled sharply, letting off a bit of steam and gathering his thoughts before he would speak. "Thank you, Ki-yivoice. Fawnspots, take the remainder of the kits with you to the nursery. I'm putting you on quarantine. You and the kits are not to leave the nursery. Our medicine cat and queens are the only ones to enter and exit. The moment any cat feels anything, I do not care if it is even a tickle in your throat you are to go to the medicine cat's den at once if you care for your life. More importantly, the lives of everyone else."
He looked the cats around him levely in the eyes, before continuing. "I will go and speak with Clopar about this incident. Sleetpelt, come with me. While I am gone, Shadeflower will be in charge of camp and you will listen to her every words like it's the last you'll ever here." He was glaring now, fighting for their lives with his words. If Clopar had abandoned them, he would rip him to shreds. Once things had calmed down, Nimblestar gently padded towards Umbre.
"I am sorry for your loss, Miss. For everyone's loss. They will be wonderful warriors for StarClan. I must urge however, that their bodies be burried immedietly before their sickness spreads to other cats."
As Nimblestar prepared to leave after the Circuit leader, he called back over his shoulder. "This will all be over soon." Was just as much a threat as a promise. If only Clopar had been around to hear that threat...

Anger cooling, so now it just simmered under the surface, Fracture watched the others with narrowed eyes, tail lashing ever so slightly. Hate was sparked in those depths, and without a word, he turned his back on the clan cats, a clear gesture, even though it appeared it was only to turn to Relic. Staring at his only remaining brother for a moment or so, he flicked his tail, lightly brushing the other tom's shoulder. This will not stop here. Something will be done. A soundless promise, one that he didn't wait for to be agreed on. Even if he was to act alone; he would still act. Turning, he stared at Nimblestar, all previous emotions hidden in the vast depths of his golden gaze. "I do not plan to be staying here in MapleClan. I will be coming with you on your venture to the Circuits." Tone leaving no argument, the bright bone cat stared at Nimblestar a moment longer, revealing just a flicker of emotion, something that was so mixed it was impossible to make out, before turning away, back toward the remains of his family. There was nothing he could say really, for comfort had never been a strong point for him, and he doubted it ever would be.
Gaze drifting over to Umbre, he offered a tight, pained smile. It was unlike Fracture to be unreasonable, the mere display of his anger showed more then words could ever say. Even now, his emotions hummed just below the surface, tense, and threatening to break with the slightest jab. "It would be best if we leave. I, at least, will not be able to take it here. I am going to go to the Circuits in hope that they will teach me all I need to know, for it will not be… wise… if I stayed here.” Suddenly, Fracture produced his first flashy grin of the morning, although it seemed to be a bit more strained then usual. Nothing like a good cover-up though, right? ”Besides. I don’t think I’m too welcome here anymore.” A soft, yet somewhat bitter laugh flickered for a moment from his maw, although the depths of the white and black tom’s eyes held no amusement. Just a hard cool that seemed almost impossible to see behind, aside from one lone spark of anger. From such an open cat, that was a very strange thing.
Turning back, he looked at his siblings in a square fashion, although his eyes were narrowed just a touch. "Does anyone care to join me? Or shall I walk alone?" There was no chance that he would reject his statement, just from the way he held himself told you that much. The only question would be, who dared to join him?

Umbre's pained sobs quieted as Nimblestar approached, her yellow gaze staring forlornly at the tom. She slowly nodded at him, knowing that it would be better not to delay their burial. The elder Duskheart padded over to reassure the grieving queen, touching a tail to her shoulder and muttering condolences. Nimblestar called over Sleetpelt, who quickly dashed up to him, and Umbre's head snapped up as Fracture spoke. Her kit was right; there was no way they could remain here. If they hadn't come at all, maybe it wouldn't have happened. She leapt up and sprinted towards the leader, urgency in her pale eyes. "Wait, Nimblestar!" She panted and turned her head away from the crowd of Clan cats, to avoid having any unwelcome ears listening. "I-it won't be wise for you to try and seek them out... A-and I don't think my kits and I can be safe here anymore... We haven't been here long enough for them to know us. Please, let us go to the Circuits. We'll stay a-and if I find out anything I can tell you! There's not much chance they'd just give a leader what he wants." Her eyes were shining, and she looked rather excited. Her kits had died so quickly, but if they could find out what the Circuits were hiding, more deaths could be prevented! Maybe some good could come of this.
