There was no break in his stride, as the silvery black tom made his way carefully through Pewterclan territory. Wait. That wasn't it. He was making his way though his territory. How odd that sounded. Never would he have ever imagined that he would belong to a clan other than Mapleclan? Let alone leading it. Funny how things turned out. And here he was, marching his way up to the clan's camp, a few other cats behind him. Talonstar looked over his shoulder to check that his mate and the other ex-Mapleclan cats were close behind. Frowning a little, he was reminded that of the group, his two sons, Badgerpaw and Gyrpaw were still missing, exploring the depths of the rogues' tunnels. They would be in for a shock when they returned, finding Honeystar dead, and their family gone.
Now that they group had stepped through the waterfall that hid the mountain-living cats' camp, instantly, Talonstar was aware of the hostile, wary gazes that fell upon his group and himself. Ignoring both the gazes and his sore paw pads, the dark tom sought out Goldenstar's old den, and the tall stepping stones that stood in front of the den, standing in the middle of the Great Stream the split the cave in two. With a great bound, Talonstar landed securely on the stone and spoke before he could be spoken to. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather on the sides of the Great Stream...!" Cats slowly edged forwards, some wary, some confused, most furious. Most likely because a cat that they thought was from Mapleclan dared to not only trespass upon their camp, but leap up onto their leader's stone and command them to listen. "Goldstar and Nudgewing are among Starclan. They, along with Honeystar were impaled on the rocks of the cliff in Mapleclan, during a fight between the leaders. The slender tom bowed his head grieving for the loss of both leaders, and allowing the news to sink in. There were whispers of disbelief amongst the Pewterclan cats. Talonstar couldn't blame them; he was still in a state of shock as well. But the job had to be done. "Before Goldstar's death, the leader named I, Talonstar as the next leader of Pewterclan. But the new deputy has not been named. I say these words so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of Pewterclan will be Havoccrypt.

Fangslash had been behind Talonstar, next to Mountainbrook, and as soon as he crossed over PewterClan borders, seemed to tense up a bit. He had never done well in large crowds, and with a sea of unfamiliar faces that was going to face him, well, it was enough to make anyone a bit wary, and a bit hostile. With quick strides and aching pads, he stood below his friend as the announcement was made, stepping forward to meet the warriors whom obviously looked as though they were going to attack Talonstar for being up there. One warrior was harder then the rest though. For a moment, the two glared at each other, each refusing to give ground. When he was away though, Fangslash had learned a few, you could say tricks, to getting others to do what he wanted to. Not to mention his apperance was dark enough to make one worry. Stepping forward, into the bubble of the other warrior, he raised his head slightly, and drew back his maw slightly, revealing two glittering ivory fangs, as well as an unspoken promise. While not overly hostile by nature, just the threat of harming his best friend and fellow ex MapleClanners made the tom hostile. It didn’t take long for them all to step back though, as Talonstar made his announcement. The shock and grief that played out over their features was much like at MapleClan, when he had made the announcement. Eclipsingsun and the rest stood behind Fanglash as he cautiously watched the clan cats. His clan members. That was going to take some getting used too, especially since he didn't know any of the cats here, aside from the group he had traveled with.
>><<
((Havoc's post is a bit ahead, seeing as Depth hasn't had the kits yet.))
He had been lounging around in camp, trying to live with everything that had been happening, and wondering what had happened to Nudgewing and Goldstar, which had been gone all day. There had been worry in the clan for what had happened, but nothing that had been too major. And then, the MapleClanners had suddenly shown up, and the silvery black one had leapt upon the speaking stone, a place which for as long as he could remember, Goldstar had spoken from. Leaping down from the branch he had been laying on, pelt bristling as his usual hot temper got ahold of him, the pale green eyes of the black warrior were hostile, and wary. When the news that Goldstar and Nudgewing were dead though filtered into his ears, it was as though the tom had been flung into another wall. Although he may not have been close friends with the golden tom, he had come to count on Goldstar more then anything, and his death was a shock to the tom, causing him to bow his head in grief. Depthvision, she was already so torn up about everything, that was only going to be even more worse for her. Goldstar had been her father, and with the recent events...
Suddenly, as the next announcement was made, Havoccrypt's head snapped back up, eyes widened with obvious suprise. Blinking a few times to make sure he wasn't thinking this to be all a dream, he dipped his head to Talonstar. He was still wary of the tom, but he was also a bit questioning now. Walking softly to the deputy's spot, he jumped up softly. Looking over the cats of PewterClan and MapleClan, he spoke clearly, pale gaze meeting all those in the area. "Tonight we will honor Goldstar, Honeystar, and Nudgewing. Although we have no way to send Goldstar and Nudgewing off properly, we must still pay our respects to them. Make sure every warrior in PewterClan knows what has happened, and what is going on. We will gather in respect at moonrise." He spoke as he usually did, the tom had always somehow managed to get his will in the end. Maybe it was his determination, or stubborness. Looking back up at Talonstar, he nodded his head, wanting to see if the silvery black tom was done speaking. Having always been impulsive, he had spoken before giving the other tom a chance, but maybe that was for the better. After all, he had grown up around these cats.
>><<
The multi-colored she cat had just entered the edges of camp when she froze. Ballad had just decided to join PewterClan to be with Aceslash, but what she saw shocked her deeply. Pelt bristling, eyes narrowed, she spoke lowly, so only Aceslash would be able to hear her. She was going to stay in PewterClan with him, but judging from the glares she sent one blue grey she cat, it didn't look as though it was going to be easy. "MapleClanners." Her voice was a hiss, although her glare was not on Talonstar, she had heard his little message. Rather, it was on Eclipsingsun. Her half sister. "The blue grey she cat over there, the one thats staring at me and bristled as well, she is my half sister. I met her shortly after I wandered back into MapleClan by accident." Maw pulled up, tail lashing, Ballad made no move toward the clan cats in the clearing. She had so foolishly thought to be escaping her past life. She should have known it would have followed her in the end. It was suiting. Not that Eclipsingsun, who had come to escape her family, was any more thrilled at seeing Ballad.

((Yes, I'm a little behind. I'll get to it, just go on pretending in this post she's had them and they've been scattered.))
Thriftnight looked placidly up at the stone, seemingly unsurprised by this change of events. He was with PewterClan, of course things were going to happen strange at times. It was part of being a warrior. His sharp gaze stared intently into Talonstar's eyes, saying nothing. Behind him, Morningsun bristled. "Our Clan will not be infiltrated by MapleClan filth by my watch!" She snarled, hackles raised as she back closer into the shadows. She'd always hated Goldstar anyway, but this choice? This?! It was well known that someone had to rebel, it was only the nature of a clan. Morningsun seemed to be the start of it. With a lunge, she leapt onto the leader's stone and yowled down to the cats.
"See what poor leadership has brought us? An invasion! We should not allow yet another poor leader to guide us, for what will happen next? Perhaps we may as well add in DuskClan and CrescentClan. Why not make a melting pot of dirty blood?" She snarled. Being clan born herself, she had always been quite judgemental. Beneath the rock, Justiceclaw, formerly of MapleClan, hissed menacingly.
"You judge before you have seen. What blind eye thinks to turn the direction of a circumstance and think to judge it by looks alone, when it cannot see what resides in it anyways?" Eyes calmly sizing up the warrior, Justiceclaw had come into his own. It was widely known he had not inherited his father Warheart's skill with words, but today that all changed. "You have leapt before you have listened. Were you an apprentice, one might think you would jump onto a badger thinking it a mouse." His fur remained flat, staring at her. Morningsun only hissed louder, staring at PewterClan. "I will leave. True PewterClan blood will remain within me, and I'll not let it flow tarnished." Even further to the back of the crowd, Rocktail stared at Morningsun solemly. "In saying this, you dare to suggest I and all others not born here are not true PewterClan warriors. This is a lie. We are the true warriors, along with our new...friends. We will stand by our clan no matter what happens, and you are the lesser for abandoning us."

He was against this as well, but with so much having been going on in the tom's life, this was nothing compared to what he had been through. However, as usual, when he listened to Morningsun speak, anger flashed through the hot tempered tom, and he turned, rounding on the other warrior. His pale eyes were alight with temper, his pelt bristling, and tail lashing. Maybe he should have given Talonstar a chance to speak, but aside from just being impulsive, Havoccrypt also knew these warriors. Maw drawing back, Havoccrypt's words were sharp, relentless. Morningsun wasn't the only one who knew how to rebel, even if Havoccrypt was going with the clan, instead of against it.
"You speak the truth, Maple, PewterClanner." Making an effort to address the tom by his actual rank, since they were going to be living here even if the clan thought it not to be so. Eyes narrowed, he turned not only speaking at Morningsun, but at anyone else who was looking as though they might want to rebel as well. His day had been really bad. He had fought with Ace, and fought in the canyon. He had come back to find his daughter had run off. He went to rescue her, to find his mate having kitted, but the kits having been taken by rogues, mate unconcious. And then this had happened. This paled in comparison to what he had been through today, and the fact that Morningsun was acting the way she was, it pushed the tom over the edge.
"Then leave Morningsun. If you fear so much for your precious blood to be tainted, then leave. But you know what? You shame PewterClan blood as you leave, even as you act up. Do you think that anyone else likes this here? Do you think even the ex-MapleClanners like this? No, I bet they don't. They've been dragged from their home to do this, and I must say, they are behaving better then you are! They lost their home, they lost nearly everything aside from each other. What do you have to worry about? Your blood being tainted by cats who aren't even of MapleClan anymore?!" Eyes blazing, Havoccrypt was obviously angry at the world, but a powerful speaker when he actually chose to think rationally. "For all those who, fear that their blood may be tainted, for all those, who want to shame PewterClan's name with their acts out, then join Morningsun on the way out. Nobody's going to stop you. However, for those who are true PewterClan warriors, cats who deserve to be of PewterClan, be we clan born or not, then stay. Look around you Morningsun, and anyone else who dares to call these cats of PewterClan tainted. What do you see? See what there is to SEE, not what you WANT too see. You, Morningsun, see tainted blood, you see someone who because of their orgins, aren't worthy to be here. But you know what I, as well as anyone else here that can see beyond their foolish speculations? I see more claws to defend the clan. I see more warriors to hunt for us, to keep us safe as we rest in our beds at night. I see warriors who are trained to be the top, and over time, would hopefully die for us, as we would hopefully die for them." Taking a breath, and meeting the eyes of all the ex Maple-Clanners below, Havoccrypt went on, although his speech was just about finished.
"None of us like this any more then you. But you know what? There is nothing we can DO about it, other then accept it. StarClan has granted Talonstar his nine lives, which means that STARCLAN MUST AGREE. Now, anyone who wishes to leave PewterClan because of some foolish concern, then leave. You shame this clan. But for those who will stand by this clan, no matter what life will throw at us, then let us welcome these cats as though they have always been here. Cast aside the hatred we may feel, and look on the brighter side. For we are nothing alone, but togethor, we can not be defeated!"
A powerful speech from the hot headed tom, as he turned his narrowed gaze to Morningsun, daring her to do something. Several of the older PewterClanners had taken up in chant, calling out 'We Are One.' Morningsun stood alone , and Havoccrypt seemed more then willing to cast her out, if she did not change her views. Of course, it was Talonstar who would make the descion in the end, but still. She could be so easily exiled, even if she did live with the clan.
Lets give a chance though, shall we?

Redspirit ran towards Thriftnight and whacked Thriftnight upside his head. "Who're we to deny StarClan? Unless you need to be told again?" She hissed. She flicked her tail in annoyance towards Morningsun. "And I take what you feel as a personal offence." Redspirit narrowed her eyes at Morningsun. "Your wit matches your strength in words." She turned and padded towards the warriors den smirking to herself.
((Note from Dream to Moss: What? Thriftnight didn't do anything. Your post doesn't make much sense to me. I didn't change any of your words, I only posted this to inquire.))

Talonstar was quiet, patiently allowing his new deputy to speak. Havoccrypt he knew, the dark tom had quite the reputation, both in and outside of the clans. He himself did not know the Pewterclanners well, so it only made sense for him to pick a cat who'd lived and had their share of experiences. The leader really didn't mind Havoccrypt speaking up; he favoured those with opinions, and who weren't afraid to speak up, as long as they weren't doing it too foolishly, and didn't know when to shut their mouths. Like this she-cat, Morningsun, for instance. Yet, Talonstar made no move, but instead stood still, his glowing amber orbs watching intently the exchanges. To him, blood had nothing to do with being a warrior; he himself was clanborn in Mapleclan, but his father had not been. But that didn't change anything. His best friend was not clanborn, neither was his mate. Heck, he was in fact rather proud that he was Hawktalon's nephew, even if most other cats were not.
Nodding, Talonstar cleared his throat, his cognizant sweeping over the masses of cats that were gathered around him, before landing on Morningsun. "I cannot do anything to change what has already happened, neither will I force any cat to stay here. But if you are displeased, I suggest those cats to leave now, or before sunrise." The silvery black tom paused again, waiting for the cats to settle down again. "I will not tolerate anything or any cat splitting Pewterclan in two. Havoccrypt is right. We are nothing alone. Both Mapleclan and Pewterclan are still in a state of relative disarray. We must be strong, so that Duskclan and Cresentclan do not find this as an opportunity to pick us off one by one." While Talonstar did not have the same charismatic, fiery way Havoccrypt had of addressing the clan, his deep voice was calm and relaxed, giving off the dark tom's usual laid back aura. Sharing a quick glance with his fellow ex-Mapleclanners, it was clear that no matter how heated things might get, it was unwise to fight. These were their clanmates now. They were going to have to put their differences aside, and learn to work together, or everything was going to fall apart. Everything that Goldstar and the previous leaders worked so hard to keep would be lost. ----------------- Aceslash's eyes widened in alarm, as he noted all the foreign cats that were in their camp. He bristled, watching as one of the Mapleclan cats, Talonfang, leapt up onto Goldstar's stepping stone. The longhaired gray warrior pressed close to Ballad, somewhat protectively, as she pointed out the she-cat who looked to be giving her a hostile look. "Just our luck eh?" Lips pressed into a tight line, Ace glared at Ballad's half sister, daring her to make a move.
However it wasn't long before that was forgotten, as the tom's head snapped towards the Mapleclan cat on the stone...or rather the no-longer-Mapleclan cat. WHHHHAAAAAAATTTTTT.....? Aceslash shook his head in disbelief. Both Goldstar and Nudgewing were dead...and a MAPLECLAN cat had been named PEWTERCLAN leader? What was the world coming to?! Even more surprising, though he wasn't the slightest bit upset about it, was Havoccrypt being named deputy. Ears pressed tight to the back of his head, the tom bristled at his clanmates who were arguing about tainted blood. He'd attack anyone one of them, if they clawed at his brother.

"Its strangly suiting. Something was bound to happen after all, peace is something that has to be worked for. Although... this is a bit extreme." Light eyes darkened slightly as she stared up at the MapleClanners, the two were still on the edge of the camp, hidden by the shadows, Ballad felt herself bristling as the fighting started out. She was one that was quick to act, be it in defense or opposition. This was neither the time or the place for that though, not when everyone was trying to make peace. Well, almost everyone. Ears pricked though, but wary around so many cats, the hostility made the air thicker then normal, Ballad flashed a quick glance at Ace.
He would always be Ace to her, not Aceslash. It was harder for her to think about his warrior name rather then the name she had come to know him as. The clan cats, she wasn't one until she got accepted by Talonstar, hopefully, probably wouldn't care for that too much, but oh well. You couldn't break a habit. "Relax. Nobody's raised a claw yet." Speaking in a low tone, having noticed the tension that had entered the tom as he looked at the hostile glances at his brother, it wasn't hard to read the thoughts in his head. The bonds of brotherhood ran deeper then blood. It was good to see.
"Maybe it'll be better if we wait before asking Talonstar about my acceptance." Ears drawn back slightly in unease as she looked around all the cats, still close to Ace, just glad to be around him. It had been so long since she had been around so many different cats at once, at least, those who weren't on her side. She couldn't even count on Havoccrypt, although she knew that he wouldn't hurt her, and not just because of what he was now. He wouldn't hurt her because he morals, and due to the fact it was obvious what Ace thought, or rather, felt about her. All this she had gathered on the way back from the canyon. Reassuring, as well as the fact the other clan cats didn't know she was here. It was something.

The paws of the senior warrior Poisondaze drifted in the slow current of the stream, while he laid next to the water with amber eyes focused on Talonstar. Surveying the situation carefully, he worked out his own interjection, "There is no question of any cat within PewterClan. Everyone shall do well not to lay accusations on their fellows nor give them ultimatums. However; Whether or not Talonstar's coming here is for good or bad in truth, none of us yet know. You can believe the former MapleClan cats are justified to be here, or not, it doesn't matter at this point. But ask yourselves what the practical things are." Poisondaze had been present at the births of most PewterClan-borne cats. He wasn't blooded from the Clan, but he had carried out his apprenticeship here, and was one of the oldest and most respected warriors. In the cycles of seasons he had been here, he had learned that no Clan who accepted anything immediately was better for it. He flicked his paws from the water and rose into a sit, curling his tail in front of him as he looked into the gang of old MapleClan cats. Looking for and recognizing faces from Gatherings. "Who your parents are don't dictate who you are. But what you are, does dictate yourself. I pass no judgment on any of you, but my questions are this... Where is the proof? We are led to believe that two leaders and a deputy fell from a cliff to their deaths; Naming successors just before they do so. Why are we to just accept this? Who was there to overhear it? And more importantly, how do we know that the cat spreading this news to the Clans is speaking truthfully? Words are just words. Unless they have a legitament reason behind them, they bear further scrutiny. And I shall make it clear, Havoccrypt that we also do not know if Talonstar really does have nine lives. Now, Another question. Why is Talonstar fit to lead us, even if he is the anointed leader? To be practical; He has lived his whole life in MapleClan, the MapleClan way. He doesn't know our Clan's ways of survival and home. All Clan leaders have known their respective Clans before being appointed. It's been this way since before any of us could remember. Except for one. There is a story I'm sure a few of you know about a leader, a long time ago, who had been raised in one Clan but left to find power immediately in another. The cats of that Clan had thought that the leader was sent to them by StarClan, and followed him as he brought destruction on the forest and nearly destroyed all four Clans. That cat was the exception of the rule.*" As Poisondaze said, he had no judgment for Talonstar. He said his accusing words for the sake of truthful knowledge. There really was no way to prove the tom was the right leader, and the other, younger, cats needed to know this before taking another step. "And, be sure to consider what you say next time, Havoccrypt. The ex-MapleClanners came here on their own accord. They did not have to come here, and you should not see them for doing that in the wrong way. If you really want to argue with Morningsun about the ethics of leaving a Clan, you should have noticed that the ex-MapleClanners have betrayed their Clan. To follow their friend to a position of power. This is against the Warrior Code, and you'd do well to consider not using them in defense of the Rules they have broken."

It was a good speech, one that was true in places, but also struck a nerve on two cats. Before the black tom had a chance to speak, he would in due time, a different cat stepped forward, his silvery blue eyes dark and somber, although he held his head high. He was odd looking, with stripes on his face, a dark what apperared to be black necklace of fangs on his neck, black legs but not paws, as well as various other markings. Not to mention the fact that he carried himself with an odd air. His voice was soft, but alas, it was filled with a dignity, and sorrow, that seemed to press upon him with every breath he dared to take. For, he had been the unfortunate one who had seen everything that had happened, he had heard the screams, the sounds of bones crushing against rocks, It haunted his every waking, or asleep, moment.
"Where is the proof? We are led to believe that two leaders and a deputy fell from a cliff to their deaths; Naming successors just before they do so. Why are we to just accept this? Who was there to overhear it? And more importantly, how do we know that the cat spreading this news to the Clans is speaking truthfully?" He quoted Poisondaze, watching the other tom with just a touch of curiousity.
"I have the answers to your questions, since it seems you have asked what only one can tell. I was the one who shall we say, was "lucky" enough to witness the falls of the three. To see their broken, bloody, remains at the bottom of the cliff, smashed beyond repair, and all with an expression of hatred still on their glazing eyes, their stiffining bodies. Or, what was left of them, that is. I'll tell you what happened, since you seem so keen on finding out what, but don't say I haven't warned you; many will not like hearing this. At least you won't have the same visual that haunts my every moment, as my ears echo back their calls of fear and anger, right before they hit the rocks." Still speaking softly, as though he had all the time in the world, Fangslash was still looking at Poisondaze, and none could see how true his words were, aside from maybe Talonstar. He was a tormented one, but he bore it without almost any trace.
"I was behind Honeystar that fateful day, I had just rejoined the clan I was born into after a longer vacation I used to set some things right. I had not been seen, and maybe that was for the better, as we tended to fight a lot, but I wanted to at least attempt a conversation. I didn't get the chance to though. Rather, your Goldstar appeared, and he was to be blunt, stark raving mad. There was a glimmer in his eyes I didn't like, and he was so obviously insane, that Honeystar was blind to it. Or maybe she just couldn't see it, I don't know. Anyway, Goldstar was angry at Honeystar, he blamed her for something, I'm guessing it had to do with Renegade. Without another word, he launched himself at Honeystar, and the two fought for a while. He easily outweighed her, but Honeystar was faster, it was a good battle. I only watched, as I knew that if I even attempted to help, I would be rebuked, as there was always one thing that Honeystar had; pride. For a while, I was foolish enough to think everything would be fine, it appeared to be as though Honeystar would be able to get out of it, and then, everything shifted. They had rolled dangerously close to the cliff. And then, both rolled off. Honeystar was the first to go, along with way shouting that it would not be Shadeflower to lead, but Nimbleflash instead. Her body hit with a bloody thump, and all that escaped was a single yowl of pure pain. Goldstar took longer to fall. Why? Because at that time, a new player entered the scene. I don't know the cat, but it seems to be the Nudgewing you speak of, for she had the air of the deputy. Grabbing onto the scruff of Goldstar, she heaved with all her might, but there was no saving the other tom. With just enough time, Goldstar announced that Talonfang would be the leader of PewterClan, before he fell, dragging down the white she cat with her. I was the only one out there, and foolish enough to look down at the bottom of the cliffs, thinking that I had to make sure they weren't actually dead, that at least the leaders could be saved. What I saw? I saw blood, every inch of the jagged, sharp, and in places, broken, rocks were covered in it, as were the broken forms at the bottom of them. There was no movement, and it had obviously not been a clean death. There are no words to describe the horrors I saw down there, nor would I wish them upon even my greatest enemy. I was quick to return to MapleClan camp, for I alone knew what had happened, and I had to report the news. You could accuse me of lying, but what would be my motive? Why would I make up something that horrendious, or why would I lie to my clan mates, my friends? And, if I was not to speak the truth, why would StarClan not give us a sign that I was not speaking the truth?" There was challenge now, behind his words, as Fangslash kept his gaze locked onto Poisondaze's. He had an enchanting tone in the story, one that painted pictures in the mind, but they were pictures that none would want. His words were one of the truth, and his tone challeneged anyone who spoke otherwise.
"And I was there when Talonstar and Nimblestar set out for the Mooncave. This band and I waited for him, there is no doubt in my mind that he did get his nine lives." To imagine one that was so obviously uneasy around the other cats could speak as he did, Fangslash was a very odd one indeed.
>><<
Havoccrypt, as many others had been as well, had been intent on the story that the unknown ex-Mapleclanner had been telling, and the pictures that were left behind happened to be less then thrilling, although all good stories have at least one death in them. This one just happened to be three. As the time had gone on with the telling of the story, the tom's temper had cooled slightly, and he regarded Poisongaze with less of the fire he had used earlier, although his words were still a touch sharper then the calm Fangslash's. "I am inclined to think of this unknown warrior's tale to be true, although many may think him to be lying, although it would be hard to create a lie that believable. You make many reasonable points Poisondaze, as you have seen many things that a lot of us have not in our early moons. However, not all is as you say. You wonder how Talonstar may be fit to lead us, do not all our apprentices learn the territory in just a few moons? Do they not know how to hunt even when they should have been in the nursery? We are not dealing with a group of apprentices here, it will take a fully capable warrior only a short time to figure everything out. Talonstar has seen many moons, from the simple glance at him, and I would think that he has been named for a reason, how else would Goldstar know at MapleClan name? I would venture enough to say that he may not know exactly what has happened, for everything has changed so quickly, but he has no choice but to lead this clan. Explain to me, anyone that wants to, why we are acting as we are, without first giving him a chance to prove himself, as well as everyone else whom has ventured here? We cannot know a cat until we give them time to let their true beings be seen. I am not talking about you Poisondaze, for you raised the questions without judgement, but to everyone else who is feeling the hatred right now that I can see burning in their orbs. Acceptance is too much to ask for right now, but is time really that much to ask for right now, so that we can properly mourn Goldstar and Nudgewing?"
As the other tom spoke about rules though, Havoccrypt had to hold in the urge to snort and shake his head. Poisondaze wanted to speak to him about breaking the rules? Had he forgotten what had happened with Havoccrypt was an apprentice, or even nowdays?
"You should know how I feel about certain rules Poisondaze. You think the only reason they left their clan was because they hoped to get a bit of power? To be so shallow as to want to get something they couldn't have in the other clan? I can not speak for their true thoughts, but at least with me, its clear what they really wanted. Maybe there are more then friends here. Would you willingly walk into a new, hostile, clan without anyone to lean upon, without anyone that you know and have lived your life with? As for the Warrior Code, there are many rules that could be bent, or even broken, in the extreme cases, as this is. We follow the code to the best of our abilities, but at least I, do not let it run my life. It is to simply guide us, at least, those who dare break away, and set apart the right from wrong. Not be the dictator of our lives. For there are reasons rules are broken, as not everything is carved into stone, or in blood, no matter what one may wish." The fire had returned to the tom, as he spoke to them all once again. It was no secret what Havoccrypt thought of the code, at least, some of the rules that had been around for ages, but not exactly the very best. He was constantly bending the rules, and breaking them, and it had given him a different outlook on everything. He may have been clan born, something that he had always accepted but not really cared about, but in truth, he had always been more like a loner. Maybe it had been growing up with Adito that had altered him that way, or maybe it had always been the path that had been planned out for him. Whatever it actually was, the code was always something that was simply a guideline to the black tom, and not something that he would die to follow. It was too boring for that.

The older warrior listened very intently to Fangslash's story, and Havoccrypt's speech. There was very little true information behind them, but the words were certainly pretty. "Heheh. Havoccrypt, I do believe you misunderstand me. I know what the Warrior Code means to you, and I know why these cats came here. But you were lecturing Morningsun on what it means to be part of the Clan, and you said that they were forced to come here, and dragged along for the ride. These are false pretenses for the point you tried to make. And; When you say 'Would I willing walk into a new, hostile Clan' By myself, you forget that I already have. I have friends in other Clans I've had longer then I've been in PewterClan." He grinned, not unkindly, and daintily lept across the stream to where Fangslash stood. "But this is not the time for misquotes. Fangslash, I can tell that at least what was at the bottom of the cliff is true, and that you saw it happen. It's in your voice and looks. But if the Circuits have taught us anything, it's that a motive doesn't have to be apparent or existant." He stood next to Fangslash and gave him an understanding look. Then he looked out to Talonstar on the leader's stone, "Whether or not any of this is actually true, I do not know. But MapleClan has produced quite a few good cats, and I'll vouch to give you and your friends the benefit of the doubt. Anyone else agree?" Not every cat responded, some were giving each other nervous glances and some still glared at the new cats in the camp, but approving meows still rose from the crowd. At least half of the Clan added their voice, and Talonstar had their approval. "Whatever you do now, Talonstar is your decision. Be warned though; We all need to tread with the lightness of mouse. There is no doubt that all of the Clans are on edge at the moment, let us not draw any undo attention to ourselves." He shot a glare at a group of young cats who had the tendency to forget the borders, and they immediately averted their gaze and pretended to hum innocently.
((HAHA, short post. Blergh.))
