The she-cat paced, her gaze far away and her eyes clouded with pain. The discomfort in her belly was gone, to be replaced with a gut wrenching pain. But still it wasn't time; this, she knew. The setting sun threw an amazing light on her deep pelt, and the darker stripes looked a deep violet against the lighter purple of her pelt.
Turning away from gazing at the ball of sky-fire, she sighed and called out for her mate, who probably wasn't too far away anyway. Darksun..? It's time." before turning and shouldering her way into the nursery, where a nest had already been prepared for the heavily pregnant cat. She settled herself awkwardly into it, her belly hard and unyeilding beneath her. She winced slightly as a pain laced her body, but otherwise gave no indication that she hurt.
After a while of simply sitting and bearing with the pain, an agonising tremor made her grit her teeth to stop from crying out, and she adjusted herself onto her side, panting now with the exhertion as the pain came quicker. Randomly spaced, the pain worsened to such an extent that she couldn't help but to screech, and then it died off, and another damp bundle lay beside her. Four times this happened, and then the pain was all but gone.
Bending her neck, she rasped the sticky covering off the last kit, a little black she-cat; the only she in a litter of toms.
With tired eyes, she looked towards where Darksun would be standing, not entirely sure if he was there or not anymore - the birthing had completely wiped her out, but the excitement of her new family was setting in now. "Three toms, one she." she purred huskily, unable to hide a large grin. "We can name them in turn. You go first."
