His eyes brimmed in malice. Renegade was right. He had no power...Not now. But when he returned home to PewterClan, everything would change. Oh, by StarClan, everything would change. Goldstar almost snarled aloud for no reason as he sped along the Maple-Pewter border. By the smell, he wasn't the only clan lead taking a run by the cliffs. His claws extended, when he remembered Honeystar had betrayed his clan.
Why had he never thought to punish her? She, who ignored his clan in their time of dying. She, who laughed at their pain. She, who never sought to help him was he was dimminished to no m ore than a warrior. It was this she had never paid for, and this she would suffer.
"Come, Honeystar. By my order, we've got business to attend to. A traitor does not deserve to live."
He snarled at her, bracing, willing her to fight. Something inside of him snapped.
He needed this blood. He needed this death.
And he would have it.

The quadricoloured she-cat had scented the other leader as she was renewing the scentmarkers on the boarders. With the rogues wandering about and disobedient apprentices and kits wandering about, Honeystar took matters into her own paws. Though she'd announced that she was going down to the canyons to meet with the rogues, she really was rather unwilling, and was dragging it out as long as she could. That Clopar was ridiculous. Rogues and Clan cats? Together? Impossible. And they probably didn't have a cure anyhow. Honeystar just wouldn't trust the yellow and purple cat. They could handle things on their own.
Annoyed that the Pewterclan leader had dared venture so close to the boarder, the she-cat dashed to meet him. Golden gaze flashing irritably, she was going to try and ask him to leave, peacefully, if possible, since the clan seemed to prefer it when the leader was a bit more mild. However, when she heard the tom's taunts, Honeystar's infamous hot temper flared, and her ears flattened. "By your order, Goldstar? Then by my order, take a long walk off a short two-leg halfbridge." Although the she-cat was not exceptionally big in size, it was her stature and attitude that made her so much more threatening. Most cats, no matter how large, quivered in their pelts, when faced with the Mapleclan leader's flaming wrath.

It was true, something huge had changed in the tom. Previously, he'd never be in this argument in the first place, but most importantly he would never be the first to unsheath his claws. His foolishness only increased, as he slipped his claws from their sheaths and sprang at the she-cat with all of his strength.
"I swear it Honeystar, you will know what my clan suffered at your price."
His snarl tasted sour-hot on his lips, mixed with the metallic flavor of Honeystar's blood. He sunk his teeth into her leg as she tried to dodge, and continued to writhe back and forth with her, menacing. He would have his way, and she would bring it to him dead from the floor on a silver platter. His mind shattered, loopy.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Somewhere in the darkness, a silver tom was smirking. His claws sunk into the dirt floor. He knew what was happening.
Vengence was sweeter than honey.

Honeystar was obviously smaller, yes, and with Goldstar's bigger size and weight, there was no way the she-cat would win in a fight with brute strength. But having a small size had its benefits too. Gritting her teeth in pain as the golden tom sank his teeth into her leg, she was able to wriggle until she was ontop. Ignoring the jolts of pain, the leader unsheathed her claws, slashing at Goldstar's face, hoping the blood would blind him temporarily enough to free her limb. If she wasn't so proud and arrogant, she would have called for her warriors. But her pride blinded her logic, and she was determined to win this fight. She wasn't going to have her clan fight her battles. Snarling, the she-cat twisted and sank her teeth into Goldstar's ear, before jerking her head back, her jaws still firmly clamped together.

Goldstar yowled in rage, his ear ripped almost in half. He baralled into Honeystar, hissing and spitting in anger, hatred haunting his otherwise handsome features.
But something was much, much more fearsome than the slashing claws and bloodied limbs. The cliff was coming closer and closer into view. The cliff his son died off of...
His golden eyes didn't even see it coming, had no idea what was after him. No idea, death was closer than his home.
His feet slipped, front claws reaching out, grabbing onto a root firmly. He considered letting go, for he knew that no one was strong enough to save him. But he heard a yowl. Must be Honeystar, in triumph. Alas no, it was Nudgewing. She was on her way.
((Sorry, brief power-play. Had to name the leader somehow.))
He hissed, cringing in pain. His shoulders were being pulled too much. Couldn't hold on...
"Nudgewing. You cannot leader PewterClan...You're too young. It must be..."
Goldstar's eyes were glazing over, images, faces, colors flashing behind his eyelids. Fear was adorned on his face like rage had been earlier. His mind vanquished, a single word from StarClan whispering over his head.
"...Talonfang."

It was impossible. Honeystar's golden gaze flashed in alarm as dragged over the cliff edge by her opponent. Scrabbling with her paws for a pawhold, her claws caught on another root. However, hers branched off from Goldstar's and it was certain that neither was going to be able to hang on for long. The she-cat struggled to climb back up, but soon gave up and and just focused on hanging on. She wasn't going to fall before he did. Never. However, regret and sorrow flashed across her features, as her life flashed quickly before her eyes. Bengalstripe and Raindance, her mother...she wouldn't be able to say goodbye. Falling from such a height, Honeystar was doubtful that even with her remaining lives, she might not survive. The root jerked once, threatening to detatch itself from the cliff and Honeystar made up her mind. "The leader of Mapleclan...." ---------------------------------- Nudgewing ran, faster than she'd even run before, wind whipping through her pelt. Only a single name repeated itself over and over again Goldstar, Goldstar, Goldstar. The leader had changed since he returned from the canyons, and was unstable. When the petite white deputy had discovered her leader missing, and his scent trail leader leading towards the Mapleclan boarder, the she-cat had been able to guess what the golden tom was up to. And she needed to stop him. When she got to the boarders, she was horrified to find both Honeystar and Goldstar, hanging by their claws, on the edge of the cliff. "GOLDSTAR!" She yowled, her light paws pounding against the ground, pushing her as fast as she could go. She couldn't save both of them, so she lunged and sank her teeth into Goldstar's scruff, struggling to pull him up. It was difficult, virtually impossible for the smaller than average she-cat to move the leader. "C'mon Goldstar..! Pewterclan needs you!." She hissed breathlessly through her teeth, putting all her energy into pulling backwards. ---------------------------------- The root that held both leader jerked under their weight once again, and Honeystar couldn't help but let out a squeal of terror. This was it. "Nimbleflash....!" With the final yowl ringing through the air, the root that the Mapleclan leader had lodged her claws into gave way, and her yowl continued to sound as she fell, speed building, until she reached the bottom.

The strange colored tom had been trailing after Honeystar, waiting to see how long it would take for the she cat to notice him. Ever since he had returned, the two had given each other a wide birth, and now, it was finally time for the confrontation. The sudden apperance of Goldstar though, had caused for the tom to drop back. He didn't know the PewterClan leader, and in his mind frame, he looked to be insane. Something glinted in his eyes, and the rogues instincts in the tom screamed for him to stay away. He wouldn't leave Honeystar alone though, and the only other option was to lurk in the shadows, although someone like him shouldn't have been able to. His kit hood had been full of things like this though, so maybe he did have to thank Talonfang for his skills. It may just keep him his life, because although Honeystar may have nine to spare, there was no way that he would put himself in the line of fire for her. He had just come back to the clan after all; his loyalty was to be doubted. Maybe another warrior would have done it, but self preservation had always been key in the tom.
As predicted, a fight sprang forth. If Honeystar had just called out for help, then maybe things would have been different. Goldstar was easily overpowering the she cat, and just as he was about to leap into action, something shifted. They had been racing on the edges of cliffs, he saw, and now, they were going to die. It hadn't happened yet, but this feeling was so strong, it made the tom see spots, blinding out the scene of them slipping off of the cliff. The death of Golden Honey, it all made sense now. For, it was not actually Golden Honey as he had thought, but rather, Gold and Honey. It all made so much sense now, and the end result was just, there were no thoughts to describe it. Suddenly though, the tom stood erect. Goldstar, had he actually said what he thought he heard. There was no way.. PewterClan didn't know Talonfang. Yet, there was no way he had mistaken the insane tom's words. His best friend was to lead PewterClan. But what of Honeystar? Did she had another, as it seemed Goldstar did? Ears pricking, he nearly missed the words form the only leader he had enjoyed being around.
Nimbleflash?! Distrust welled inside the tom like a wound. He didn't like the other tom, and although he hid it, there was no way that he would ever be able to. Not after what he had done, there was no turning back from there. And suddenly, came the PewterClan deputy. As she grasped onto Goldstar's scruff, another powerful feeling hit the tom. He was no doubt pale, the power he was experiancing was something that made him sick. Turning away, he knew what was going to happen. He didn't need, or want, to see another leader, this time with deputy, plummet to the rocks below. Anyway, he had something he needed to do. MapleClan would need to know, and then. Well, he always said he would be there for Talonfang. He would journey to PewterClan, and then watch his friend's back as the news was broken. Whirling, Fangslash darted away, just a blur, silvery eyes wide with horror and determination.

Goldstar gave a last, wicked grin. His enemy had fallen as well. Content with this final piece of mind, the golden tom let go. He barely even noticed Nudgewing, still clinging to him, as he fell into oblivion.
Death wasn't how he expected. Every life, gone in one terrible roar of agony. He could feel his son, pulling him away to StarClan.
"This is is, Dad. I know it hurts, but you can do this. You don't have a choice."
Goldstar wanted to scream, but his windpipe was likely spewed on yet another rock nearby. Nudgewing was besides him, likely impaled as well. He couldn't reply to Crevicefang as he left this world, and departed to the next.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
He had heard it all. Every last breath, yet he did not try to help his leader. She would rather die than fail her own battle, this much he knew. Nimbleflash heard the final echoes as they faded away, and scarcely stopped to consider himself leader.
All he could think was...
"What the SunClan? Talonfang?"
((xD Leave it to me to make death amusing.))
