"I think I'd know a nursery when I see one." "Well obviously not, as that is the medicine cats den." "No way. You've got to be joking." "Who, me? I don't joke. I eat cat's who joke for breakfast." "Oh please, Steadfast. You're friends with Icefire, you can't expect me to buy that." "I don't recall anything for sale."
Spookfire, new to CrescentClan, had the unfortunate experience of learning the way around camp from Steadfast. It was not exactly a pretty sight.
"What, is this clan prejudice against short cats or something? Is this the den for tiny warriors?" Spookfire gestured at the apprentice den, her violet eyes gleaming. How odd.
Steadfast winked once at the apprentices before turning back to Spookfire. "No, no they are our prisoners."
Spookfire stepped away, shocked speechless.

"Steadfast, don't be so mean. Just because you can order them around doesn't mean they don't fight back." A soft voice called, but the amusment in that tone was obvious, before a small grey she cat stepped forward. Her pelt was the color of mist, with faint darker stripes; her eyes a dark yellow color. Grinning slightly at the new warrior to CresentClan, Spookfire, the grey she cat dipped her head in greeting to the two. It was rare to find Mistyfeather speaking to someone, she had recently been orphaned, and wasn't taking it well. She had never known her father, and ever since the battle with Renegade, she had lost all she had. Of course, her aunt was still here, as well as Dustquill, but they weren't the same. It was amazing that she was even speaking TO Spookfire, seeing as the she cat had recently been a rogue. Like many though, Mistyfeather was trying to overcome her dislike of rogues, and her eyes shown not with unease, but with a gentle laughter. Stepping forward toward the pair, eyes gleaming, Mistyfeather introduced herself.
"I'm Mistyfeather." Looking over to Steadfast, she offered a shrug. "If you want to go hang around with Icefire, I can take it from here." The two were always plotting something; and someday, Mistyfeather knew they were going to get in deeper then ever before, and then wouldn't be able to get back out. But, as it was, they were just fine as they were, and the newer warrior was happy just to watch the two; seeing as they were insane.

Pinnkish red eyes gleamed out from a den as they followed the cats around, mapping their every move. Sharp ears heard everything, and the cat hauled herself to her paws and padded out, altering her stride to a confident pace, nodding to the cats who greeted her. She approached the group and meowed a soft greeting. "Steadfast, Mistyfeather. And..." her gaze narrowed as she cocked her head to one side, studying the rogue who stood before her. "...Scare...No, S... Sp... Ah yes, Spookfire, I believe? I do apologize; I never was too good with remembering names - at least if they've been brought up in a Clan, I have a few moons to memorise their name. But adapt and survive, as they say." The lanky deputy became lost in thought for a moment, before snapping her gaze back to the present.
"Oh, uh... I advise watching your tail around these. They tend to bite." she nodded to an apprentice who was creeping forward towards a bug on the ground. Seeing the attention he was getting, he backed off again. Eternalblossom's whisker's twitched with amusement as she watched him go fondly. Stanbding from where she had settled on her haunches, it was easy to see how she stood out in a crowd. Even a well built tom only came up to her chin, so most regular cats were at her shoulder when she stood.
She'd just got up, having led a patrol through the night, and stifling a yawn, she stretched, her pretty pelt shimmering gray in the light, and the blossom on her right shoulder showing up vividly. Recovering her composture, she turned once again to the new cart. "Spookfire, since I know it can be quite difficult to remember a lot of new cats, I'll recap for you, in case you don't remember. I am Eternalblossom, the deputy here. If you have any problems, come to me, and I'll take it up with Darkstar. You could always go to Darkstar, he's a nice enough cat, but he' also busy. Just so you know." she purred gently.
Then she sniffed the air. "Should be a fair day today, unless my nose is failing me. How about a hunt a bit later? You're all welcome to come, as well as any... 'prisoners' you wish to invite." she grinned.
((Wow, first time I've RPed in a long time. I kinda missed it x]

Another one of the newer Cresentclanners hung back from the rest of the group, pale gray eyes flickering. Already he was learning many of his new clanmates' names. However, the small dark tom had never been much of a social cat, and as usual, he stood alone, close enough to hear the little tour that Steadfast had been leading, but far enough to remain unnoticed. Looking no bigger than an apprentice, Dyinglegend could have easily snuck into the apprentices' den and stayed the night, without anyone noticing. At Eternalblossom's mention of a hunt, his ears perked up. That would be the perfect occasion to start knowing the clan lands, if he were going to live here for possibly the rest of his adult life.

Steadfast nodded curtly, as Spookfire slowly began to catch on that they weren't really prisoners. Her tail tip twitched, as she smiled brightly at Mistyfeather. "It's good to know height isn't a problem because, well.." She had always been tall for her age, and she gestured at her spindly legs with a bit of a chuckle.
Steadfast looked briefly wounded, before cracking a giant and slightly goofy grin. "I'm hurt you'd think my duties mean so little to me, Mistyfeather. I didn't join the clan because the mice tasted better. I joined because I wanted to," Well, actually because I wanted to be with Icefire. Oh, right, and Skywhisker. The tom continued. "As such I can do my duty assigned to me perfectly well." Anyone who knew the warrior would know easily that he didn't have a serious bone in his body, asides from caring for his to-be mate of course. He wasn't angry at all. "But you're right, whatever Icefire is up to must be much more amusing..." He paused, thinking up the dastedly things she could be planning using objects ranging from teaspoons to sticky notes and various other tools.
Spookfire leaned towards Eternalblossom. "I for one would love to hunt. Best get to know the place anyway...Wish I could say the same for airhead." She flicked her tail towards Steadfast.

"Of course. That's what I had in mind." the lanky deputy nodded. "And it would have the added bonus of getting more freshkill. The pile's getting low, and we have many more mouths to feed now that our numbers are swollen so." she nodded again and glanced up at the sun before stretching again. "Anyway, I'm going to go sort out the patrols now. If you're up for the hunt, meet me on the outskirts of the woods at sunhigh. See you then, maybe." The gray she-cat depaarted, heading for a group of warriors to recruit for the patrol. How busy her life now was, now that she was a deputy!
((Had to make her leave, because I'm going away for a week, and it wouldn't be so great, her in a coma in the middle of the conversation xP Feel free to start a hunting thread, just say that she had immediately started hunting by herself. I'll be back in a week.))

Songpaw sat in a corner flicking her tail back and forth as she looked at Spookfire. She yawned as the group of cats continued to talk. She could never understand how everyone could just stand around and just talk...
Silversoul walked back into camp and set some freshkill on the pile and gazed around the camp. It looked like there was a new cat in the clan. She then looked at Songpaw and sighed. That she cat was weird. Oh well, She turned back around and began to go back out of camp to hunt some more.
