Okay, I want to know if anyone knows what the best file for an animation is. Because I downloaded an animator today, a simple one, and while it works GIF files save color weird. Why am I asking this? Because if I can get it to work I can make animated items for the shop. Here's a blink animation I made. It's only three different frames. The eyes look weird because those are the eyes I used before I finished the cats. I had the frames lying around. See what I mean about the colors being weird? EDIT:// Okay, so APPARENTLY the key to quality GIF is the paint program. Ergo MS Paint SUCKS for this. And I have no money. Anyone know any free virus-free program out there?

A program like paint, only better, right?
Well, before I got Photoshop, I used something called GIMP. It is a free program that is a lot better then paint. I don't know about virus problems though, I know a lot of people who have been using it before.
I think the address is www.gimp.org, but I'm not sure. Easier just to google it, I think.
Hope that helps.

On second thought I proably shouldn't be downloading anything else, but thanks for the help.
Does Photoshop have layers? I'm considering looking into it. And how goes GIF save?

I have Photoshop Elements 5.0, and it does do layers. I can get some screenshots from mine if you want.
I'm pretty sure GIMP does as well, but it has been I think about a year or two since I used it. Not quite so sure anymore.

Icons:
The first icon is how you make a new layer.
The second icon is to create an adjustment layer.
The third one is to delete the layer.
The fourth one is to link layers.
Lock
The first Lock is to lock transparent pixels.
The second one is to lock the layer.
Adjusting the layers.
There is several options for changing the layer type.
Normal Dissolve Darken Multiply Color Burn Linear Burn Lighten Screen Color Dodge Linear Dodge Overlay Soft Light Hard Light Vivid Light Linear Light Pin Light Hard Mix Difference Exclusion Hue Saturation Color Luminosity.
Hope this helped.

I have a Dodge tool that I use, along with the Burn tool for shading whenever I decide to color something.
I don't know what a Paiting burn is, but you might find something like that in the newer ones. I /think/ the newest one is something like a 7.0
Mine cost around $80. It is a great program though once you get to know it, and if I tried to screenshot everything for you, I think I would be here for a couple hours. xD It has text features, such as outlining the text, and other stuff. Gradiant tools, it has borders/themes. Cut out shapes, and little drawings in there.
It also has a tone of photo effects. There are all types of different brush tools, and if you didn't finish coloring something, you can save it as a .psd file, and pick it up later without any problem.
You get a wide selection of colors, anything you want basically, you have a blur and sharpen tool, and so many others on a side panel that I didn't include in the first screenshot.
This is something I did recently, using a various number of tools;

I meant painting XD Some programs only have fixes, and you can't use color normally. But that sounds awesome! I'll have to prod my parents into getting it for my birthday. Thank you for the info!
By the way, if you have all that cool stuff, you ought to draw and color more often >=3

Ah. Nope though, you can do whatever here. Sometimes, I download brushes to use for texture and other things like that as well.
Your welcome though.
I lack motovation to draw, other then just doodle. xD I color the stuff I find free online. Whenever the art school opens up though, I'll probably be doing a lot more.

I know this is late and all, but you can download a 60day free trial from the Adobe website, so you can see if you like it before you buy it or anything. And a lot of people I know just download it again and again and again. BUT I tried it, and it could never extract from the download file. And it took a couple hours to download, too. And all this is on TOP of your decision to download stuffs. xD

How do you download it again and again? =Blank=
Hey Sacrifice, can I trouble you to, real quick, use that program and save something as GIF? Pasting your cat from here as a GIF will work. I'd like to know if that program saves GIFs without the weird criss-cross thing Paint does.

=Cathedral bells ring= YAY! Thanks soo much for the help! That means that if I can get that program, I can animate items in the shop! ^.^
=Checks prices= Ouch, around 139 dollars. Looks like I won't be getting it anytime soon then, as I hate asking my parents for stuff XD I'll have to find some way to make money.
