His pelt camoflauged with the surroundings. His felt tried so desperately to grasp the ground that wasn't beneath him. He opened his maw to let out a howl for help. Nothing came out. Everything was dark, cold, lonely. He heard snickering coming from all around him. It sounded as if his pack were mocking him. His light blue eyes danced around wildly, trying ever so desperately to find a familiar face. His nose burned as he tried to concentrate on the scents. Suddenly he fell hard, landing on the cold dead ground beneath his feet. He quickly regained his balance, ready for anything. His lips curled back in a snarl, warning what ever was out there to watch out. His hackles raised. "Who's there!?!" He growled harshly. His surroundings lit up. He was in the forest, but it wasn't normal. No prey ran through the trees, no plants sprung up from the ground, and all the trees looked like giant sticks. A black wolf appeared behind the tree. His blue eyes matched Sandstones, his fur color matched exactly, the only difference was the strange wolf was older, his eyes held more wisdom then imaginable behind them. Sandstone stared wide eyed. "Who are you, and Why am I here?" He growled angerly. The other brute just laughed softly. "Just the way I'd imagine you. Tough, strong. Yes, a fine son indeed."
Sandstone stared at Earthstone. He finally relaxed. He had met this wolf once before, when he saved him from the bear. He finally grew to accept his father as a strong wolf. Maybe not as smart as most, but still wise and caring. He stepped close.
"Why am I here father? Why do we need to talk?" The unexperienced wolf asked. "You're here because I have a message for you..." Earthstone started, but then stopped. His gaze seemed to watch something in the distance, but nothing was there. "What is it?" Sandstone asked, getting worried. He didn't know what to do. "A pack is not a pack unless they can see past...." Earthstone spoke. But the voice was not his. It sounded deeper, as if a force more powerful then the wolf itself. "See the past? How are we suppose to do that!?" He gasped.
Earthstone started fading. As did the bear trees, and the ground. The wolf was left there howling in rage and fear. He was left alone in the dark. What did it all mean?
His eyes flew open and the wolf stumbled to his feet. The morning sun was peaking through the lush forest. For the end of winter it was nice. The snow still lay here and there, but not as bad as the beginning. Birds chirped softly, singing their sweet songs. The plants shook as snow dripped off of them. He let out a sigh, it was only a dream.

Stark padded past Sandstone's den to see that the leader was awake. He turned back to face the small dens door."You know your not the quietest sleeper." Stark said with a smirk."Either way I'm going hunting. Want to see if anyone else wants to go?" He asked. They didn't have much food at the moment and there didn't seem to be much else to do... Everything seemed quiet.

Life was no better. Everyone seemed to think that she was fine, her life simple. But no, probably everyone in the pack forgot about him, but she didn't. That much was defiantly true. Many who knew this told her to start new, but the she-wolf knew this was impossible. He was her life. Her one love. Her heart was still in deep despair and depression. Of course she didn't show it, she had learned to hide all emotion. One smile could cover for a million tears, especially the ones that pour out on dark nights when the moon is out. Just like the day they ran together like pups in a game of tag, dark pelts like two silhouettes agasint the moonlit night. In dreams it was all mourning, never to be visited again by him. No, she wasn't happy, and wasn't sure if she ever would be. The only joy that kept her was being the medicine wolf, tending to the hurt. At least she could mend broken bones of others, yet she could never mend her broken heart. Her head and thoughts were never there when a patient was about, knowing herbs like the back of her paw. She didn't have to think, and let her imagination wander off to special places that everything was perfect. Was life really worth living? The black pelted wolf felt her paws moving through the forest, not knowing were they were taking her. His son was the only thing that kept her from the edge of insanity. If she wasn't there already. Of course there was Shima, but no. He never truly loved her, and she was only there to continue his blood. How she wished she was there to continue his blood though... The younger brute was just like him, though he hated her almost as much as his father loved her. The female shook her head sadly, a long whine escaping her muzzle. She thought many times of joining Earthstone, ending life as she knew it. But she knew that Starclan had plans for her, that she going leave so easily. Meiko was a lost soul, one filled with nothing more then wishing to be dead and gone. Last time Sandstone had ever met her, was when he was starting his own pack. Meiko smiled, legs numb. He was strong and determined just like his father, now a mature brute himself. The alpha at that, and the blue streaked she-wolf knew that was exactly what Earthstone wanted to do. But last time, she was watching there to see her lover in him. She now knew even though he was so much like the older male, he was not him completely. Meiko now realized where her legs were now taking her, the same ones which were cutting through the scilent air with great speed. Not this time did she search for Earthstone in him, but to know him more. He probably already had his own mate, if not a family. But she wasn't there for that either. Her heart still belonged to his father. Meiko just wanted to talk to Sandstone, not with hatred or hostility between them. Not even to talk about Earthstone, and what was between him and her. The she-wolf just wanted to know how he was, and if they could make up, forgetting everything that might have happened in the past. She remembered watching him in his old pack as a small pup, loving him with a motherly feel already. And of course she still had that feel, that would never fade. His scent mingled with others was evident up ahead, and Meiko recognized the place from the last visit. Last time she also hid, letting them find her, which probably angered them more. She wasn't a bad wolf, and wanted to show him that. Meiko paused, brown orbs glinting with the early sunlight. She watched him awake, feeling a strange aura about him. What was he dreaming of? What did he see? She was an expert of reading messages sent from the ancestors, and wished that she could help him... And as soon as she stopped she flexed her mussels ready to greet him. Another wolf was there, and was glad that she could meet a pack mate. Meiko braced herself, knowing tensions would be very high as she revealed herself. But she would never be at peace before this got done.... Black fur like charcoal, neatly groomed, shocking blue streaks brighter then ever. The she-wolf stepped out from behind the brush, letting all her feelings and wantings pulse out of her to let them know. Stopping a few feet away from them, Meiko sat down, a small smile forming. She dipped her head respectfully at Sandstone, knowing that he was the owner of these lands. She respected him highly for that. Nodding at the other male in greeting, letting a soft breeze tug at her pelt. "Hello, how have you two been?"

Ver blinked the sleep out of her eyes, Snadstone had awakened her with his thrashing, and playfully nudged him. "If you wanted a hunt, all you had to do was say so." She said in an easy going, happy way. It was the most relaxed she usually was with others around. Only Sandstone had seen her as she really was, a light and carefree wolf who was very fun to be around. Only memeories of the past kept her from being what she was. Wheeling though, she picked up the scent of one wolf oh so familiar. Her two colored eyes flashed and easily locating the female. She didn't do anything really, other then watch the female. She had never spoken really around Meiko at all, aside from that tense time a long time ago. The mistrust was obvious in her gaze though. No. Not everything had gone well with the last meeting. Not at all.
"Brunnenbrunnen. Meiko, ist es eine Weile gewesen. Was holt dich hier zu unserem kleinen Satz? No more Unterbrechungen, die ich hoffen würde. Deine Weise scheint zwar, für möglicherweise nicht heute ruhig."
She murmered, more to herself then anyone else. She only spoke in German when something suprised her. Or aggrivated her. This one was a bit of both, as her tone indicated. No, it wasn't Mekio's fault she felt for Sandstone like he was her pup, or was he? Ver didn't know all of the history, only that Mekio was... odd. That was putting it lightly.

Total leaped out behind her. "What are you doing here?" she snarled. "DOn't you belong with your pack?" she snarled.

Her ears flicked as she heard another approach, yet the she-wolf didn't move. Meiko still kept the hopefully friendly expression on her maw, eyes still darting back to Sandstone every so often. Verblassen obviously didn't trust her what so ever, but thats what she expected. Her black pelt was much like the alphas, minus the glowing-like blue patterns. This one was speaking in a strange tongue, and she tried to listen to it. Try to understand it. Since she was the medicine wolf she knew little of different languages, and was pretty sure this was German. Meiko pursed her lips together, digging deep in her mind for old translations. She met many different wolves in her life, all speaking different languages Throughout time she learned few words from each. Obviously this she-wolf knew it fluently. "Erm... Ich bin nur hier, zu reden. Nichts mehr. Bitte lecken Sie mich für die Zeit bin. ." Meiko barked politely, bowing her head at the newcomer. Saying the German had much of her American accent in it, sounding truly like some kind of tourist. None the less, she was trying to be kind. Though some how the she couldn't get the feeling that she mispronounced something... wanting to say 'I am just here to talk. Nothing more. Please trust me for the time being.' The she-wolf turned back to Stark and Sandstone, wanting to see how he would react, wanting nothing more to start a new. "I was wondering if-" Her head snapped back to see Total, but as the younger she-wolf snapped at her she didn't change her reaction. She still narrowed her orbs slightly at the other wolf, but tryed to keep her warm smile on. "A pack is where your family and friends are... I feel as if I belong to many then just the one I stay in." Meiko replied simply. It was true, her making many friends throughout life, alway sending a prayer to them, who lived away from her. But inside she also referred as Sandstone being family...
((Ehehe, translate it... Sorry bad post...))

An amused expression flickered into the she wolf's eyes. I am only here to talk, please lick me for the time ebing? Snorting, Ver corrected her.
"Ich bin gerade hier zu sprechen. Nichts mehr. Mir bitte vorläufig vertrauen"
She put an obvious stress on the last part. As Total joined her, she dipped her head to the other wolf. "Nicely said." She murmered to her, before turning her gaze back to the other wolf. Her expression turned from amused at the other wolf, to a blank mask. Join this pack? They had enough trouble with her back with Sandstone before they left.
"Wir hatten genügend Mühe mit dir und Sandstein, bevor wir verließen. Er ist nicht Ihr, trotz der Tatsache, die du ihn offensichtlich als Familie liebst. Sein Geist ist mit uns und für immer wird sein. Warum möchtest du hier irgendwie verbinden? Du hast deine eigene Lebenrückseite am anderen Satz."
She said, obviously too tensed to speak normally to this wolf. If anything though, the female should understand her, if not be able to speak it back. Standing next to Sandstone, who had been unusually quiet during this whole thing, Ver watched the other she wolf with her blank mask, obviously ot sure how to feel about this strange wolf. Her social skills had never been as good as they could have been, and she didn't react to newcommers very well. Her tone wasn't hard and evil like though. More so, it was questioning and untrusting. It was something at least.

Stark growled a bit. He was aggravated that this wolf had decided to come in here like she owned the place. On top of that he knew no German what so ever. Was this other one trying to join the pack? She had answered Total's question as though she intended too but all around Stark thought it would be better if the female left. Considering the annoyance between Verblassen and the newcomer. Of course Stark would not decide this. At the moment he was unsure of what to say or do. He shifted in his stance and flattened his ears. Not really in a hostile way more so to say he was a bit confused and annoyed. By the way Verblassen amusing look and snort at the she-wolf's sentence he guessed that the newcomer's German was a bit rusty.
"Er... Ver is the only one that speaks German here. Mind explaining your presence to the rest of us?" Stark asked. But he recalled what she said about belonging to more then one pack. That's one of the things that had annoyed him in the first place. With an agitated growl he spoke up again."Your loyalty should be to one pack. Not two or three." Otherwise what's the point? He finished to himself. If you feel you need to be in several different packs then why bother being a member? Your as good as a loner living that way.

Sandstone had kept his mouth shut while he observed the others reactions to Meiko. He knew who she was, why she was here. She loved his father. She came to make sure he was alive and ok. Meiko loved him as her son, even though he wasn't. Sandstone wasn't a stupid wolf, he knew what was going on. His light blue eyes wandered over each wolf as they spoke or reacted. It appeared Total hated the stranger, Ver was aggervated with her, and Stark was just confused about the whole thing. Sandstone let out a sigh. What was he going to do?

The she-wolf lowered her head with embarrassment, seeing what she said wrong. Maybe it was better if she didn't speak in German anymore, since she wasn't the best. And she didn't want to make a fool of herself again. Meiko put on a good humored smile. "Oops." She mumbled, shaking her black pelt. Meiko quickly translated what Verblassen said, but then Stark spoke. She dipped her head once more, "Of course I can. English is much easier anyhow."The she-wolf glanced at Total again, not really knowing why she was aggressive. Meiko wasn't a threat, and she expected Ver and Sandstone to be the worst, since thats how it was last time... "I'm not looking to join your pack, I belong to Obscuredsoul's. I am only here to talk to Sandstone, and to start a new with everyone here." She barked, understanding that they thought she was here to join them. But that was not what she wanted, only to check on Earthstones son, and just to meet eveyone... if not a bit more. "I'm the medicine wolf. I do not fight for my pack, just help the hurt. I help anyone who was hurt, making me not binded to them. Of course I would not leave, since they need me. But, like I said before, a pack is where family and friends are." Meiko sighed, the same feeling of loneliness and depression coming back. At her pack all she does is heal, not talking or hunting. She was turning very anti-social these days... "I was loyal to Earthstone..." She whispered for no one to hear. She looked over to Sandstone, wanting to talk to him more then ever. Maybe he was the only one who could help her... Meiko grimaced the hurt feeling of loss nipping at her paws.... nothing new.

He listened as she spoke. Her words seemed to dance around his head, lingering a bit longer then he'd like. He acted as if she had never spoken. "Stark, you wished to go hunting? Take Total, and Romeo if you can find him." He dipped his head to the beta wolf. His gaze held a plea in them. He needed to find out why Meiko was here, and he doubted itd go by vey fast if she felt threatened. "Meiko, please come into the den." The younger wolf spoke. His tone was monotone, holding no emotion behind it. He hadn't asked Ver to go hunting nor join them in the den. He would let her choose if she wanted to release some anger and go hunting, or stay with the two. His blue gaze swept over Meiko before dissappearing into the den.

As everyone was basically told to leave Sandstone and Meiko aside from herself, Ver made her desicion. She would stay with Sandstone, and give him the support he obviously made. Following her mate, she said softly to him, tone just auidable to him, and her accent more pronounced then usual; "Everything will be alright." It was simple words, but there was emotion packed behind them. She would leave if he told her to, but now she would stay with the black alpha. There was no way she would leave him, not in the state he was in currently.

She smiled, yet you can see something else hidden behind her sincere eyes. Caution? Apprehence? Just plain out pain? Meiko nodded at Sandstone, not able to take her soft orbs off of him. She was glad he realized she wanted to be alone with him... or at least partly. The she-wolf padded into his den behind the younger brute, impressed of the place he found. She was really impressed by the whole thing, him following what he wanted and starting his own pack. That was exactly what Earthstone wanted to do... takeing her to make there own family... just if she wasn’t so attached to her job as a medicine wolf maybe he would still be alive. She always regretted her choices, and blamed herself for his death... Meiko sat against the wall, closing her eyes for a second. Memories were flooding back to her like a storm and it was killing her. Everything about her mate she tried to dismiss after she learned he wasn’t coming back, and at the same time it felt good. It was strange, two different emotions rushing together at the same time. But over all she knew why she was there, to start over with his son. With Sandstone. Meiko open her eyes once more, ears twitching as the German speaking she-wolf followed. Of course it didn’t surprise her, Verblassen was obviously Sandstones mate, and how lucky she was to have him. "Sandstone, I- I am just here to apologize." The blue streaked she-wolf barked in a frail voice, which could probably be blown away in the smallest breeze. "You know I loved your father, and the last time a visited you I saw him through you. But I know better now." She barked, nodding her head slowly. "You are a lot like Earthstone, but you are Sandstone.... and I am here to apologise. To start over. I know that you probably hate me, and your pack doesnt trust me." Meiko knew that she couldnt drift away to only a healing shell, doing nothing else but her job, until she did this. And she couldnt end her life until she did this either... "You are a great wolf, and even though you may not care, but I am proud of you also. You started your own sucsessful pack, and have everything I always wanted." Her black pelt was much like his, the way hers almost matched his fathers completly. Exept for her blue streaks, making her stand out from others so much. Her chestnut orbs were soft again, "If you ever need any help, I would love to assist. I am a medicine wolf... even though you probably have one already." Her voice matched her warm eyes, though pain and maybe something else remained behind it.

When the Alpha spoke Stark turned to Total giving her a friendly but in the shoulder with his head. "C'mon. We'll find Romeo and get a good deer." He said padding off toward the exit to the caves. Sandstone could have just said it without the plea in his eyes. Either way Stark was the beta and a friend. He would have done it simply because of instinct and such. "Were do think Romeo is anyway?" Stark asked kinda airily.
