With a rouch gasp, Sandpaw burst into the River Hill Gathering place. His sides were heaving, but he had brought Silverstar with him. They had run the whole way, and it was a lot more then the apprentice was used to. Despite that fact though, Sandpaw's eyes were bright as he looked around. He couldn't see Goldstar, but as he inhaled a breath, he could strongly scent the other cat. Turning around, he waited for Silverstar to come, although it was obvious he was nervous about the drifting scents of rogues. His eyes gleamed slightly in the light.

Golden Spirit turned. "Is Silverstar coming?" he said quickly, seeing the cat.
[quoting Maple] Barely more than a shadow, Honeystar suddenly stepped into view. Her eyes narrowed as she stared at Golden Spirit, her fur standing on end. She was furious at the former PewterClan leader, even though she knew there must be more to the story. Under any circumstances, there was no reason for a leader to forfeit his Clan. "Goldstar!" she called, growling the tomcat's Clan name. "What have you done? Why have you asked me to come here? I have no interest in speaking to a cat like you![/ending quote]
Golden Spirit turned. "My name is not Goldstar." he hissed. "And I see no reason for your hostality." he added. "I had no choice but to surrender. The Circuit came, and the ROgues attacked. There was no way we could have won."

Sandpaw puffed as suddenly the leader of Mapleclan slid out of the shadows. His fright was only for a moment though, as he nodded at the other cat. He really wasn't sure if he was to stay here or not. Many cats could be against apprentices being at important matters. Shrugging, Sandpaw decided to wait and see if Silverstar would make him leave, knowing only she had authority, or so he thought, over him. He would not be a bother though, as he watched from the shadows.

The silver form of Silverstar snuck out from behind the under growth. She had things to take care of back at camp. She glanced and nodded to her apprentice, wondering how soon he got there. She looked away, notioning with her tail that he was to stay. She watched the two, silvery orbs staring with interest. "The circuits and the rogues?" the leader was taken back. When did they start working together!? Her pelt bristled, in anger. How dare they?!

"It was confusing." Golden Spirit replied. "The Rogues were tearing apart the Clan, there were so many! And the Circuit showed up suddenly..." he shook his head bitterly. "I don't know what happened."

The silver she-cat calmed down. "It's OK Goldstar." she purred, taking a seat next to her old friend. She rubbed her head against the toms. He really needed comfort more then anything right now. The fear scent was wreaking off the poor tom. It was horrifying having your clan slaughtered in their own home. She knew from experience seeing your clan die was one of the hardest things. It was unbearable. It must have been worse having rogues kill them, and not being able to do anything to stop it.

"It was hopeless. Renegade killed an elder with a touch of his poisoned claws. It also came by surprise." Amberchase's blue eyes gleamed.

How he itched to be able to saw something! Of course, he had felt like he should say something before, but now it was almost unbearable. But all he could do was scrawl stuff in the dirt. He really didn't want to be considered stranger then he really was though. He had noticed that he was the only apprentice, and while that made him feel a bit of pride, it also made him feel lost with all the warriors around. So, instead of doing anything, Sandpaw just watched the going ons, his amber eyes burning bright. He had heard of Renegade, and his posion claws. He had an idea of how he did it to. If the clans knew, then they could have a fighting chance! Sandpaw felt at loss. He had used posion claws before on a mass battle. They were dangerous though. He looked into Siulverstar's orbs, and then at is claws. An understanding expression was in his eyes. If only she would give him permission to write, and tell the other cats here that was how he communicated when the need was great!

Goldstar sighed, glad Silverstar seemed to understand. "If we had known he was coming, we might have had a chance. But they just jumped out from, well, everywhere, and before I knew it everyone was dead." he noticed a strange look in Sandpaw's eyes. "Do you wish to say something?"

Snadpaw shook his head, touching his tail to his maw. He shook his head again in a slightly frusterated fashion. There was only one way he could say what he needed, and now he was going to take the chace of being called something bad. He doubted they would speak it out, but he would know by the look in their eyes. Oh well, live and learn, he thought to himself before taking a deep breath and scrawling out something into the dirt.
"Just in case you didn't understand, I am a mute. However, I know how to do the poison claw thing. You have to use Ground up rattlesnake fangs, although getting them is quite deadly. You can't do anything with your claws after you do that, so you would want to do it during a battle. But, I have used it before, and if you do it right, you get something similiar to what Renegade does. At least, I think. I don;t know what type of poison he uses."[/size]
Stepping back, Sandpaw looked up at the leaders, eyes cautious.

(( Aren't death berries a poison from ingestion, though? XD Ground up rattlesnake fangs might work, though. ))

((xD Stratch the inside of the cat's throat. I'm not sure. I haven't read anything with Death Berries in it for ages. I think your suggestion would work better.))

(( Yeah, seeing as how everyone in the books died or got sick from eating them... We have a similar thing here, but they're called choke berries, and they're purple with red stalks, and can kill but would probably just give a human older then seven a horrible belly ache. At any rate, I've never heard of a plant having nerotoxin, which is the main ingredient for gash/poison-related death. ))

Golden Spirit pondered this for a minute. He looked at the writing. He didn't know what it meant.
Rainbowpaw burst into the clearing. "He says to get posion claws, you can use ground-up rattlesnakes. He says thats what Renegade does." she said breathlessly. "But deathberries might work to."
Golden Spirit jumped in surprise. He listened to the apprentice. "Is this true?" he asked Sandpaw.

Sandpaw grinned gratefully at Rainbowpaw. He didn't need to write to tell her he was grateful for her beng able to read. She was the only cat he had met before that could read, aside from the crazy loner he had lived with. It was that loner that had taught him how to write. For a moment, his eyes sparked with memory and a lightness, before the darkened as he went back to the serious matters before him. And every cat in the forest, for that matter. He looked strait into Golden Spirit's orbs, and nodded. There would be no mistaking what that was. If there was a way to win this battle, then he would have to share his secret with them all. Rattle snake fangs was part, the other part he would tell when the time came. Not now, but maybe in the future. His past was a key to it, and although it was not a horrible one, it was still bad enough. He glanced at Silverstar, wanting to see her reaction. He didn't know if she knew that he wrote. It was really his only way to communicate with those who understood him. He wondered if Rainbowpaw was going to stay. He might have to speak more in the future.
"Death Berries wouldn't work unless eaten. They effect only the internal organs and whatnot. Rattle Snake fangs work though. They are fast, like Renegade's poison. I was guessing that was what it was." A voice said, and two golden orbs appeared from the darkness. The smell was rogue that came off the onyx tom, but there was the accent that had alerted Goldstar about Renegade that was to be placed. Still though, the tom did not move out of the shadows, His eyes were hard from battle, and an edge hung around him, one that spoek of death and many battles. His golden orbs were calm and wise, there was hardly a sign he was there aside from the eyes. "Its the only way we could defeat Renegade. If you distract the rogues, and with the poison it would work well, I coul get up there and finish it." He said simply. Zane had nothing to hold him here, he was going to finish Renegade. Ever since Melody left, he knew that was what he had to do. There was no other way to get rid of the stabbing pain then to do what he knew he had too.
