Suddenly Wing yelped. Her paw had snagged a crevice, and she was falling. Suddenly, she twisted aound and grabbed the ledge. There was a loud crack. "Percy!" Wing screamed. Her front paws were holding the edge, and if she let go, she would fall to her death. Her hind legs were scrabbling, trying to get a hold, but there was nothing to grab.

He continued to reach farther and farther on each step, like flying away from everything behind him. It was quite fun, like the world moving around you, not you moving in the world. Percy grinned, pushing forward even more. No chance Skoll would catch up to him... And then he heard a yelp slice the air like knifes. Skidding, the brute turned around quickly, blue eyes wide with fright. Did the murderous wolf get Wing? No, she was falling off a cliff. How nice. "I'm coming! Just- uh- hold on!" He barked, bounding over to her, he quickly scanned what was happening. Percy darted out, grabbing her scruff. The black pelted brute was strong, muscular structure bracing, and hauled the she-wolf up. He was only a bit bigger then her, since males usually were. They were about the same age too. Percy placed her on her feet, pelt bristled up, and panting. He looked up, "You okay?" He asked, a worried expression on his face, that gradually turned to a concerned smile.

Wing allowed herself to be pulled. She quickly leaned back, keeping her front paw in the air. "I- I think it's broken." she said. That must have been the crack. She tried to put weight on it. She yelped loudly, but forced her face into a strained smiled. "Lets go." she said, and started to limp ahead.

Percy frowned, blue eyes still full of concern and compassion. The brute stepped closer to her, sniffing at the dangling paw. "Its defiantly broken." He muttered, biting his lip and looking up. His black pelt flashed as he shook his head at Wing with a rumbling sigh. "You cant walk like this." Percy barked, gathering sticks and leaves. "I know you would much rather walk, but please sympathize with me." He asked, deep sapphire orbs pleading. "I cant let you go on with out me doing anything, so just go along with me." The brute nodded, softly reaching out to take her hurt paw. He put two very stiff branches on either side, wrapping it tightly with plant fibers. Then he covered it with lambs ear leaves, the softest plant in the forest. ((So true.. so soft...)) "I broke a few limbs before, its the only way to keep it stable. You still wont be able to walk though, please let me carry you." Percy barked, finishing with his organic sling. The black pelted male always cared for others, mostly just wanting to rid the world of evil. Like he did with his parents. He figured that if he had abusive ones in his life, others did too, and he was only so fortunate to get away. Others needed help. And Percy set out to help, yet the responsibility that hit him before for the she-wolf was still there, and that was part of the reason he cared so much. How strange... His ears twitched as he listened for Skoll, this was slowing him down... and that wasn't good.

Wing protested, but decided just to go along with it. The wolf had good intentions. "I can stil walk, see?" she said, limping forward, keeping her bag leg off the ground. "Just a little farther. Until we find a river." she said.

He smiled lightly, yet blue eyes still full of concern. "I suppose your right..." Percy barked cautiously, but stayed close to her side just in case. The black pelted brute looked around, he didn't want Skoll to come... maybe, just maybe he gave up. But there was no time to think that was true. Percy nodded again at Wing, taking a few quick steps, looking back at the she-wolf on everyone. He moved closer to her yet again, just in case she needed to lean against him. Just then thunder clapped above, letting a few rain drops patter on to the ground. The rain got harder, falling heavily upon the thick forest dust that had its own way for a few dry weeks. At first the rain had merely splotched the dust, which seemed to be rejoicing in its own resiliency and laughed at the heavy drops thudding against it. But eventually the dust was forced to surrender to the mastery of the rain as it churned into black mud that clinged to Percy's thick fur. He scowled, pulling Wing under a pine tree, covering them slightly. "I don't think that other brute will be coming after us in this. Too bad we had to get caught in it." The brute mumbled, eyes scanning in the blur of slashing rain that pelted down to the ground so hard.

Wing growled. She hated rain. "Lets find shelter." she growled, as if it wasn't obvious. She started to go faster, her leg throbbing. Finally she found an overhand. Water cascaded off the top. There was no prtection from cold or wind, but it was the best they could do. She shook her pelt out and lay down, hwe injured paw stetched in front of her.

He followed her, a little happier that the ledge was covering most of the rain. At least their pelts weren't getting soaked anymore. Percy sat down next to Wing, giving her a little grin. Obviously she didn't like rain. Who did? "Want me to get us something to eat?" The black brute barked, ears twitching at the scuffling sound of prey in the dead leaves at the back corners of the overhang. He didn't want her to stress her paw anymore then she had too. They weren't going any where now, the storm was getting harder as another bolt of lightning lashed down. Percy rolled his eyes, storms were over rated. He turned to her, blue eyes soft and twinkling. "Where are you from?" Percy asked, darting out and catching a digging vole.

Wings eyes hardened. "Far away from here." she replied. Her past was not exactly one of her favorite things to talk about. She lay her head on the ground, yawning.

Percy nodded, not really one to dig for personal information. If she wanted to tell him, she would. Simple as that. He layed down next to her, watching the rain splatter down outside of the ledge. A few moments of silence passed, and the handsome black brute got annoyed by it. It was one thing to be quiet with no one else around, but he thought it was a waste to say nothing while another wolf was around. Especially one like Wing. He turned to her again, a friendly smile on his face, piercing blue orbs welcoming. "So, what were you doing back there? Ya know, with that other brute?" Percy asked, dropping his stare down to her hurt paw again.

"I was sleeping near there last night and when I went out this morning he found me." Wing replied. "He said I was on his territory. I was under the impression it was a free-for-all in the mountains. Its every wolf for themself." she said, sounding pretty irritated.

He nodded, hearing the irritation in her voice. Percy wasn't sure if it was directed toward him, or just because the thought of what Skoll did. Anyhow, Wing needed her rest, and he didn't want to push her any farther. "Well, I believe the mountains are free land, but some wolves like Skoll think they own everything, since he's acts so tough and frightening." The black pelted brute barked softly, rolling his eyes at the thought of it. Percy lowered his head, light blue orbs resting on Wing. "He even thinks that he owns the females who come on his 'land' too..." He mumbled under his breath, obviously annoyed by that still. Night was falling quickly, rain still not showing any sign of stopping. There was no way the two of them were leaving this cove, the she-wolf having a hurt paw and never knowing where Skoll was still lurking.
((-yawn- Have to make this more exiting..... hmmm... Lolz ^^))

It's pelt was soaked from the beating rain. It was impossible to tell the color of it's coat until it got closer. It slowly walked toward the shelter. It picked up the scents that lingered around. Two were in there. It smiled. It's eyes rested on it until the two came into view. It stumbled closer, almost as if it were stalking it, or to afraid to come any closer. It sat a few fox lengths away. It's breathing deepened as relief swept over it. Finally, it found what it was looking for....
((LOL! Interesting enough?))

(( -le gasp- Yes! XDD))
The brute turned his head abruptly, a strange yet unknown scent lingering closer. All of sences went into full action, blue orbs searching franticly in the blur of rain. "Some ones coming..." He whispered to Wing, getting to his feet slowly. His black pelt bristled, as he spotted a dark shape moving like a phantom beyond there semi-cave. The black pelted brute moved closer to the she-wolf, his fur touching her's slightly. Percy didnt know who this wolf was, and he wasnt taking any chances. It could be Skoll, and that would be murder for the both of them. Since Wing couldnt fight, and Percy would fight to the death protecting her... The stranger moved closer, and so did Percy to Wing. A deep rumbling growl sounded from deep in his chest. As the other wolf came in, sitting away from them, Percy stood there dumbfounded. He looked down at Wing, taking a step closer to the intruder. "What are you doing here?" He snarled, lowering his head. Percy's hackles were raised, ready for anything that would happen.

WIng's ears snapped up with her eyes and face. She was instantly struggling to her feet, growling with the strain of it. She managed to stand, and she loomed behind Percy threateningly.
